Well, just as they do always, the biggest lying company in the world once again shows why competition is so vital. Sony, after releasing their info on their Game Pass answer project, did one thing. Mudding up the water. Their Tier system that they are implementing was one of the worst explained, worst implemented concepts I have ever seen. They did a ton of misdirection to truly get to the bottom line. And the bottom line is that, unlike everyone’s hype about the service, Sony Will not(contrary to Sony press Pony’s keep trying to spin it for something that is coming later), I REPEAT…WILL NOT BE COMING nor competing with Gamepass because the Biggest benefit of the Gamepass has nothing to do with Old Xbox 1 or Xbox 360 titles access, it is the ability to get Call of duty for free on day one, MLB 2022 on day one, Elder Scrolls on Day one, Forza MotorSport on Day one, Starfield on Day one, etc, etc. And this is something Sony’s Complicated Tier system for backward compatibility games is not going to do, BOTTOM LINE.

And this is something Sony claims ” affects the quality of the games”( The same lie they told us about the NEW PS5 game’s quality being Affected if made to play on old hardware when in truth it was because they needed a cover story because they couldn’t figure out backward compatibility before launch and needed to justify their price hike on games like Returnal who’s makers didn’t even want nor needed $69 per game. So just like they lied then they are lying now. PC-only titles that have far superior design, quality, and complications to their development don’t charge the prices Sony charges and their developers are doing just fine with their quality and money. And above all this, not once did they ask the gamers what they wanted because they know that the gamers would want DAY ONE ACCESS but Sony doesn’t want to pay for the cost to do it. So they spin it crap about the Developers losing money when they truly don’t. Call of Duty made Billions of dollars on DLC alone so being free on Xbox Gamepass on day one moving forward won’t affect those games. And on top of this Gamepass is successful because companies are getting paid. Microsoft pays these companies and gives back to these companies to offset most of the common loss of any revenue otherwise. Sony could do the same thing but they don’t, they are too busy charging companies 10’s of thousands of dollars just to put their game into the store and be seen. They are greedy and all they do is Lie and gamers everywhere just accept it. If Sony had come up with Gamepass and Microsoft came up with this complicated “backward compatibility” ( because that’s the just of what it is)Tier answer …Microsoft would have been laughed out of existence. The press would have never stopped getting on Microsoft and calling them greedy or liars if they said the things Jim Ryan said. But just as always…The opposite happens and now it’s ok or spun off to falsely set up some kind of “wait and see, you will get day one exclusive”…when the man flat out said it isn’t coming. So IGN and others need to stop spinning this as such.

Look, at the end of the day. The Sony Playstation 5 is still the best console in the world. It will outsell the Xbox no matter what. Just math alone proves this. They have more regions that sell Playstation than Microsoft has. And this alone assures them either early victory or pending victory. I am not a fanboy of Microsoft or Sony. I’m just honest. And what I see, I’ve seen for years. Sony lies and Sony speaking for gamers without speaking to gamers first. They did it with EA Access first launch…claiming that gamers see no benefit out of it and they are doing it here again. But where they win is their Exclusives and that’s what they don’t want to give up with this Tier system. And in some ways, I can’t fully blame them for this. But don’t spin it to be something that it isn’t. But upfront and honest about the reasons. “ We are in this to make as much money as possible” and we don’t need to discount memberships and free games to continue to be successful because we have the best games”...Done. But I guess then we would have to add arrogance to their list of faults, oops they already have that title with the $600 PlayStation launch:)
