The Mighty L50 and E50 combo Amp and Dac system, one of the cleanest and most balanced sounding Amp and Dac systems on the planet is here. Where do I begin? The Audiophile and Hifi worlds out there are all unique and yet very similar. Some stand by this product over there and others stand by this set of rules while others don’t. Through my years of enjoying music, one thing is sure…it’s all Subjectable. So what I’m saying here may not apply to your liking or flavor and if so …it’s perfectly fine. There is not going to be a thing on this earth that all of mankind will agree on. And audio equipment will never be that one thing to accomplish this.

With that said. This stack system is the best overall package for an amp and Dac that I’ve experienced. Topping is my new favorite brand for Amp and Dac’s. The noise floor is completely dead and well past any conceivable range for human hearing at 0.00006%. This creates an absolute dead floor where sounds and direction are more easily perceived especially when something like my Hifiman Sundara’s is being used balanced on the XLR. The combo of these two things creates perfection on my Custom EQ settings for my PC. Yes, my EQ…something purists hate because it effectively makes their thousands of dollars spent to gain 10% better sound, a moot point. And while there is a ton of amp and dac that really good from Topping and other brand like THX 789 which I have as well. It does have a wider soundstage but the L50/E50 bring out better vocals and bass from my Sundara, so it wins.

And yes I’m sure if I upgraded to yet another headphone, I would experience a different result or a little better. I’m not stupid enough to believe that the Sundara is the last bullet in the chamber for all Sound. Things like the Hifiman XS or the Ananda’s probably give a little more dynamics than the Sundara. Or things like the Sennheiser 800s might deliver more soundstage than I have with the Sundara. And maybe one day this will mean more to me but today I just don’t care. The Sundara’s are so beautiful inside and out that I just don’t care about upgrading to something better. If anything I’m happy I have a clear upgrade path when and if I decide to take on that journey. My biggest problem and blessing, should I say…is that the My pair of Sundara’s, my L50/E50 with my EQ have no weakness.

There is no single thing that it doesn’t do that I wish it did better and it doesn’t do a single thing wrong. So while the other headphones with my set might have wider soundstaging or more bass they have things wrong with them. XS has comfort and fit problems and cost $200 more and on top of that it goes with the V shape sould loosing Mid range to background just like other common earphones which I hate. The 800s has bass roll off issues and cost $1000+. The Ananda’s cost $300 more and don’t have the vocals and timber that the Sundara has and top of all this …all of these units are bigger than the Sundara’s, which I really don’t like( hate experiment projects looking headphones). So again …all this points back to the perfect setup. Your perfect setup might be different since we are all indiviuals.
