I’ll be the first to admit that the Bluetooth world is full of contenders. I mean you have some really great earphones out there. Brands like Master and dynamics, Sony, Jabra, Soundcore, Apple, and many others have jumped into the game swinging for the fences. And one way or another I end up getting all these earphones over time only to find out that only two brands stand on top of the mountain every year, Sony and Sennheiser. They both have amazing apps and features that are useful but also the most important thing they have is ANC for Bluetooth users. This feature is preached about more than anything else in the earphone world of competition. The next highest thing is sound quality.

Well, this year Sennheiser didn’t just sit back and focus on ANC. They focused on comfort and sound. While the ANC got better with active adjustments, the real stars are the amazing fit thanks to the smallest footprint Sennheiser has ever put into the Bluetooth range and its mid-layer grip ring that you barely see around the earphones. These two things make the MTW3 blend into the ear effortlessly without any discomfort or bloating feeling. Gone are the bloating feeling in the ears the previous models used to give most people that wore them. And by doing this allowed the new drivers and new sound signature to stand out even more. They not only got better( still running APTX), more balanced, and more resolving but they surpassed every single earphone on the market today in the overall refined sound it produces. Rivaling even some Audiophile wired headphones in the market today. And that’s saying a bunch. Vocals, Bass, and Mids all have some of the best timbre, clarity, and separation on the market of Bluetooth ever. You then add better mics for phone calls, Nice hear-through, perfect touch controls, customization, and the amazing 28 hours of battery life total, and what you have is something super amazing.

In fact, this is the first $250 earphone that I have given the Rank of Diamond score to. I can find nothing wrong with this earphone and it defeats all others in quality, sound, looks, fit, and portability and still gives you a 2-year warranty to back it up. So if you are looking for the absolute best …and money isn’t what you are trying to avoid spending…then this is the one and the only thing you might ever need for the next 2-3 years. This one I believe has reached the ceiling of Bluetooth and really has no more true jumps left. Maybe next year they give more battery life or better ANC but the sound quality I think has reached the top point. Sennheiser has just done its best job this year with the Momentum Tw3’s and I highly, highly recommend this earphone over any other Bluetooth earphones on the market today. Needless to say …I’m finally done for the year until the next Sennheiser come better than this.
Update: Well, such is life. Just when I could rest assured that the Sennheiser mtw3 would rule…failures happen. And searching through forms these failures aren’t new or uncommon. The first failure was a complete power off hard failure. Both earphone for now reason powered off and wouldn’t turn on for 15 minutes. Then 2 days later the earphones, completely seated inside the case for hours , wouldn’t disconnect from my phone. So the mighty has fallen so be warned. If you looking for something good and reliable …they are not quite there.
