So, it’s been a great day today. I took off for my birthday weekend. I went to help my mother and father at their house and when I got home …guess what was waiting on me? The Keychron 3 keyboard. Now I have never had one of these keyboards before. I had always seen them on people’s youtube channels and thought that they looked pretty interesting but I was always unsure about the functions and the need for the keyboard. Another thing that concerned me was the complete square design look that it had over the traditional keyboard look and layout. I just didn’t see myself really liking the look and the feel of the keyboard on the surface of the pictures and videos that I saw on the internet.

But fast forward a year and I saw the new version of the keyboard out and it started my curiosity all over again. And as it stood today …I needed another keyboard and all I saw in the store were keyboards that cost hundreds of dollars and I just didn’t want to go through spending that amount again for a keyboard that I might not keep past 2 years. So the Keychron became a realistic option for me at $70. Amazon had them shipped and delivered in 1 day so I went with that option. Once it arrived today, I jumped on the unboxing and took the keyboard out. I really liked the look and especially the feel of the keys. Everything really felt high quality and very high tech and minimal, which is something I truly look for in tech.

The next thing that I did was look online for any news of failures( something I probably should have done before I purchased this). Strangely enough, I didn’t see anybody really complaining about this keyboard. But my friend swears that it’s not a good keyboard because it went out on him. Now granted he had a different one(the Keychron 2). He had the previous version but even with that, I didn’t see anyone talking about many complaints about that version either. So maybe it’s isolated. If anything I saw the opposite and a bunch of folks customizing theirs and happy with theirs. For me personally, I can’t see anything that could really go wrong with this keyboard. It’s pretty simple in its operation. Maybe the keys fade or start to shine or something but that’s about it. I don’t use it wireless so that should help also eliminate it from failing that way too. I guess for that issue I would have to look into replacement keys for the Keychron keyboard. If I can find that, this would handle that fear. But if not, maybe by that time I will not have a need for the keyboard any longer and have moved on to something else. But then again I am trying to cut down on that way of thinking and way of living. I kind of want this to be the last keyboard for a long time. And I already know there are a bunch of people that don’t like the flat style look of this keyboard because it reminds them of the apple keyboards but this is actually pretty useful for me and very pleasing to use in my opinion.
