I guess I kinda knew this day would come around again. Every generation of gaming I get both consoles and I allow all the uphill and downhill events to develop the full picture of what the outcome will be for me. I understand my needs and enjoyment and mine can’t be like everyone else’s. So, the things I look for that helps me see a clearer pictures revolves around the types of games I like. And unfortunately for me first person shooters aren’t apart of that need. I can’t play them without getting sick so no matter how many Halo’s or the other 70% of Xbox’s first person shooter games they got from buyouts means absolutely nothing to me. Outside from the need to see competition I could care less about where COD ends up. I don’t care about Destiny or stupid baby games like fighting toads,Grounded, or Sea of thieves. But yet every year I give Microsoft a shot because they do a great job of claiming that things will be different but they never are. Every year they disappoint with every single thing they touch and it’s gotten ridiculous. So I find myself back with PlayStation yet again.

Boxing my Xbox series x up has been a surprising weigh off my shoulders. It feels refreshing and freeing to finally only have one system to focus on. I got tired of trying to decide where I should buy my games. And best of all it feels amazing to know for sure which consoles is the best for you once all the lies and assumptions finally works it way into the light. We now know that RNDA 2 didn’t do jack crap over the ps5. We know the power advantage means nothing in real world gaming, at least not enough to show a clear difference. We also know it’s not about Xbox dev kits. most importantly I know that Xbox gaming lineup isn’t for me yet again this generation. The exclusives suck and their management of getting games out still sucks. All they know how to do is produce lack luster games, 1st person shooters 70% or more most of the time, and baby games…if they can actually get them out that is. It’s never going to change. It’s who Microsoft is. And it’s not good enough for me.

And what has continued to prove itself to me is that PlayStation just has what I love…great games. Great story driven 3rd person view games are what drives me and there is no better place in the world for these games than on PlayStation 5. I knew this last gen, and the gen before last and the gen before last. And yet I’m stupid enough to keep believing Xbox. “So let’s try this again, shall we… My name is Peter Parker and I am the One of only Spiderman”:). No, just joking but games like Miles Morales, Spider-Man 3 upcoming, Gran Turismo 7, Wolverine, Street fighter 6, and plenty of others only for PlayStation means I have no need for my Xbox series x. I don’t have to wait til next year, don’t have to wait to see what happens with COD or Starfield( which will be a failure of overhyped chaos.). There is literally only 1 game left for Microsoft console that I would even be partly interested in, Forza Motorsport. But based on everything that Microsoft does …it will most likely just be another games that didn’t live up to their promises. And it is there where reality met me on the road. The generation of gaming for Xbox, for me…is over. There is not a single game coming in the future or exist presently exclusively that I excited about or want to play beside Forza Motorsport and that’s simply a shame and tells me I’m on the wrong side of the tracks for my focus on gaming. And so just as I’ve done every generation…I game exclusively on PlayStation yet again. And it’s not because I like them or trust them as a company. It’s only because of the games.
