PlayStation 5 and Sony just has everything going for it. They have a commanding …game over lead over the Xbox series systems with over 25 million worldwide. They command the hearts of gamers and regulators alike according to reports:). And ps5 is the front runner of games like Hogwarts and others when it comes to ads, demos, and show runners. The developers all know the command of PlayStation and know if they want to be successful then the Sony fans will need to be pleased. Games sales start and end with their followers and according to even Microsoft… Sony is so much in the head that they could lose all of their call of duty players and money from the dlc and still be the single greatest Gaming platform in the world.
Games like Hogwarts with its special developer focus on the ps5 has brought over all the advancements of the controller haptics and trigger options into their game. This will create a unique feeling for the game that just can’t be duplicated by the Xbox consoles. And it is things like these advantages that give PlayStation fans their sense of pride about their choice in consoles. So it shouldn’t surprise anyone that people sometimes believes games like Hogwarts are exclusives even when they are available on Xbox. But this is some of the main reasons why Sony is as big as they are. They have the biggest fans base in consoles and their fans spend the most money on games and dlc content. So developers love PlayStation because they make them the most money.
So when games like Tekken 8 comes out for Xbox and PlayStation, people will see PlayStation by default. It’s a fighter and not a first person shooter, something Microsoft needs to change about their focus. PlayStation is just a default place for unique and diverse types of games. People know that when they see something that doesn’t just have a hand attached to a gun on the screen that chances are it might just be another great PlayStation game. And most of the times they are completely right. So when Tekken 8, Street fighter 6 (even though it is exclusive) comes out people will only associate it with PlayStation. And even if they come out for Xbox …people just will assume if they want to play these games…they need to buy a PlayStation 5.
So come 2023, instead of gaining any ground with their buy of Activision, Microsoft will have to deal with the launch of Hogwarts, Street fighter 6, Forespoken, Final fantasy 16 and others that either are true exclusives or assumed to be one’s instead of celebrating the acquisition of Activision. And why, you may ask…because they were dumb enough to only buy out the company for 70 billion without making their games exclusive. Microsoft acts like they are in a ring with their hands tied behind their back while their opponent has free hands to do whatever they want. It is why they continue to be the laughing joke of the industry and why PlayStation remains at the top. They lack the will to do the hard things.
