Throughout my gaming life I have never seen such a obvious feeling about a company. Microsoft is hated not just by fans but by other companies. Me personally, only hate their hardware failures and their inability to do nothing but first person shooters and baby games. But as far as what they have done with game pass, it’s the future and best thing in the gaming industry. I have seen what happens when companies have no competition from Microsoft and PlayStation. And both of them are untrusted by me. I wouldn’t stand by either of these companies. But for me I follow the games and PlayStation just has better games and better hardware reliability.
For the rest of the world, the only thing that exist in next gen is PS5. The world is completely in love with Ps5. And Microsoft, no matter what game they give away or console they give away is still being utterly destroyed yet again this generation. Instead of more people being excited about the Activision buyout and flocking to Xbox, people are buying even more PlayStation 5’s. It’s so bad that even Phil Spencer has given up on growth for the sales on the Xbox series consoles and console game pass growth. The truth of the matter is that even with Call of Duty and Activision, the world will never accept Microsoft as a whole and they will stand with PlayStation with even more passion because they represent the purity of traditional console importance, while Microsoft focus is on mobile smartphone players first, pc 2nd, and console last. And real console player clearly sees through their smoke and mirrors. They will never be accepted as a true gaming company and will always be looked at as just an investment group who knows nothing about true gaming, so they throw money at the problem and still can’t connect with the gamers around the world. As a whole, people just don’t want you, Microsoft.
