This is going to be a bit hard for me. You see…for me I grew up with standard watches as the only true original piece of tech love I had in my life first. Watches have always represented the pinnacle of love starting with my first Casio. Over the years that habit grew to more expensive watches like Citizen, Seiko, Tissot, and many others. I just had to have a watch if nothing else in my life made sense. I was never stuck on only one brand or the other. For me it was about the functions, accuracy, looks. And what made things even harder was the movies that had hero’s where different watches. Things like transported made me fall in love with Panerai, and movies like Fracture made me fall in love with IWC.

So when I tell the Apple Watch changed my perspective on watches for my life you have got to believe me to the utmost that this is a serious transition. Unlike all other watches charging something daily or weekly just wasn’t a thing I was ever faced. So I went into the Apple Watch Ultra already expecting this to fail because of this. But once I got it I found that not charging it but ever 4 days wasn’t the headache I thought it would turn into. In fact if anything because I expected to charge daily or every other day, making it to 4 days on average really helped appreciate it more. So as I started to wear it daily and nightly, things like the overall weight and classic looks of the orange band and titanium started to settle with me. I found myself just staring at the watches throughout the day.

And times where I did charge it …I felt my arm missing its overall solid but not too heavy feel. The Sapphire anti reflective glass also made looking at the interface next world. The flat surface just brought graphics to life. I can’t truly expressed just how much of a difference this flat surface and bigger screen made over any other Apple Watch or any smartwatch ever made before it. Those things never felt like a Watch but more than a toy to do gimmicks on my wrist. But the Ultra looks and feels more like a tool and real watch had a baby.

So when you take the supreme build of this Watch and place it against watches like Tag ,Omega, and other high-end watches and compare what they do and how the keep the time, in fairness to Apple…the $799 price tag hurtle fades. No longer do you feel like this was too much to pay for a Watch but now you feel like you got a bargain. Watches like Garmin run the same prices or more as well and look absolutely generic and built with very basic materials. And being Atomic in its time keeping, Waterproof, shock resistance, can take a hammer, freezing, or 130 degrees and keep working, all the while being able to take a phone call, connected to Siri, crash and fall detection, heart monitoring, and a perfect touch screen and app integration for Apple, what you have is the best Watch ever made. That’s right…I said it, the best Watch ever made is the Apple Ultra! It is easily the only Watch I now want on my wrist. So much that I will be selling my watches I have owned for years because I just can’t go back to a standard Watch after this.
