Not only did Xbox …(on the hills of the Activision battle and most likely approval)get destroyed in Christmas sales against the Playstation 5’s 30 million console sales, New York Times is reporting an even bigger loss to occur again in 2023 even though games like Starfield and Redfall are due. Now, Key Developers Leads for the highly popular Forza Horizon games leave Xbox to form their own studio that can develop for Playstation and Nintendo. This news with the history of game developers leaving from studios like the Coalition and never forgetting the now Playstation owned, Bungie just creates the same messy management and history of disorganized franchises and talent that continues to leak from Microsoft’s talent pool. Now, the good news is that they most likely will create their new project for Microsoft as well being that they are forming a 3rd part studio but doing this on the hills of all the pushed hyped about the future of Xbox, just doesn’t show me that all things are as firmly glued together as Microsoft tries to promote. You would think that a company on the verge of all these purchases would make developers excited to continue to work for them. But no, they are leaving and they are leaving key projects and game titles. You also would have thought that Microsoft console sales would have turned the corner and started cutting into the numbers of the lead on the Playstation 5 with the thought of Call of Duty and other titles that are coming to Gamepass but it’s just the opposite. More people are buying Playstation 5 now and more people subscribe to Playstation services. Why? Simply put…better Quality titles and more loyal fanbase Worldwide. And unfortunately, after all the buyouts and studios, after all the games they have given away and all the consoles they have given for free with the Gamepass agreement options, Playstation 5 with $70 exclusives and no free day one games or any true match for the Gamepass given by Xbox, still continues to bet them and that tells me and should tell others that the Game World, as a whole, still rejects Microsoft. And with news like this, it’s a shame that their own developers are showing continued signs that they are too.
