Something that I never thought existed and would come from me is the nod to Apple for the cost of their products. I just never believed that the headphones in the Bluetooth range were worth the asking prices if above $300. Well, after spending all this time I’ve spent with my Airpod Max I would have say it’s completely different view now that it has grown on me. Now I feel that the Airpod Max is worth every penny of the $550. And yes if I lost this pair today I would have to find a way to buy another pair(not saying it would be easy but I would find a way).
And the strangest thing was the fact that the Airpod Max wasn’t responsible for me seeing this, It was one of its competitors, the Momentum 4. After hype after hype of this product and testing them, the sure headaches of using this product left me with even greater appreciation for the Max’s. Everything from getting the touchpad to not change songs when adjusting them, to the touchpad becoming unresponsive just because it was 50 degrees outside, to not being able to pick up a phone call, even the build quality of the hinges that giggled and rattled inside the hole of the earphone housing , to the easily worn out leather on the earpads, and finally the shallow space inside the earcups and muffled down clarity for the sake of bass even if adjusted on the app, and the crashes and frustration of just trying to turn on the unit or change the transparency mode or NC with no off option.
Should I keep going? Let’s not forget about the clamping force and turning on and off while inside you case that happens. Omg, let me make myself extra clear, if you dare compare these headphone to the Airpod Max again, you should be thrown off the top of 3 story building. You have to got to be truly brand biased and blind. In no world should the Sennheiser momentum 4 be a consideration for a competitor of the Max. And after going through all that I was more convinced than ever at the completely different world the Airpod produce and produce effortlessly. Every single thing from the fit, sound, function without any real thought. It’s just self efficient in it’s operation and even intuitive. It doesn’t matter that it’s chilly outside, my buttons work. The clarity is the highest on the market today, the perfect sub bass hits,and the spacious soundstage thanks to its ear cups spacing and instrument separation is just Artwork living. Adaptive EQ and Siri make things feel like it’s from the future because no other product does what Apple products do with each other. And this is before the transparency modes, ANC, and off options are presented. It’s beautiful, comfortable for hours and hours, and every single song or style just works. You don’t have change things every time something goes from Rap to Metal…it just works. Mad respect to Apple…and grateful thanks are given to all of your hard work, Apple. This product is worth every single penny you charged for it because if you have an iPhone …there is no equal to your headphone anywhere on this earth today for Bluetooth headphones/earphones.
