Let me start off by saying, I truly didn’t expect this. I thought my Moondrop Kato was going to ride off into the sunset. I didn’t think anything else could truly beat the overall performance. Well, when you are away on business and you just so happened to go to New York and a store called Audio46…you might get into trouble. The Oracle Mark2 at $600 changed everything. I was wrong by a mile. It’s not only a win but it’s immediate clear and easy victory. Well, that’s if your smart enough not to forget to push the IEM into your ear deep enough, like I did. I spent days wondering why the sound I had heard in the store and the sound I had after getting home were completely different. I almost returned these things on several occasions. But as soon as I read a article about the need of assertion depth for these earphones, life changed immediately. I just didn’t try to push these any further in my ears due to the size of them. I didn’t think I could for starters but I was wrong. I could not believe how massive the change was. I didn’t even feel pain or discomfort doing it because of the amazing venting on this IEM.

It gave me cleaner and perfect Bass and sub bass that I have never heard in my life. It destroyed everything I have ever used in headphones and earphones with its soundstage, timbre, and imaging superiority. And that’s thanks to those amazing 2 Electrostatic Drivers option inside the Oracle Mk2. The detail in treble and tonality with decay has never been to this level with anything in my life. Even the attention to detail it has with its packaging was very welcoming and helped add to this amazing overall connection.

It wasn’t something you needed to waste a lot of time on after I changed my assertion depth. It was almost funny how much change took place. I knew within 30 seconds I had reached the Endgame of my IEM’s and I started writing this article with in minutes. It was that clear to me just how dominate the results were. These things have 2 BA drivers/ and a custom Dynamic driver with a subwoofer in each IEM to go along with the EST drivers, totally 10. They even managed to beat the original Thieaudio Oracle in delivering better sub-bass, better timbre, better soundstage, better treble extension, and comfort. And the original Oracle was considered by many their Endgame. The Oracle MKII is just a more realistic, more technical superior version of that IEM and for just $40 more I would be glad to take on that charge for this difference.
“Almost immediately, improvements in detail retrieval, shimmer, and air can be noticed when comparing the original Oracle with the MKII.” Thieaudio

I truly am blown away at the change the assertion depth made and that I was able to get it there without pain or discomfort. It created a whole different universe, not just a world, and I can’t believe how much I left on the table before I got the placement right. At the end of the day, there was truly no other outcome left on the table for me but this. And Tony with Audio46 in New York was completely, 1000% right when he told me that this was the one and that nobody returns this IEM. I’ve already turned over the Kato’s for return shipment. This was the result before I got the deeper insert but now that this has happened and the IEM true revile is here, it wasn’t even a 1% chance I would be happy with the Kato ever again. Would I ever tell others to buy the Kato if they have a budget limit of $200. Yes I would. But if they have $600 to spend, by far my suggestion will be the Oracle MkII!
