If you like me then you typically want to have your money spent mean something. The last thing that makes you happy is spending your money on a product that was said to deliver on unique experiences, new tech, and new innovations but never delivers those things. Such was the case, I felt, with the Blessing 3. I just didn’t get where all the promises of this new driver and its delivery of sound was at. I just didn’t hear any of the real difference such promises and new tech is suppose to deliver on. I felt like I was lied to and tricked. But what I found out was that I was the problem, or at least my lack of 1 action was the problem…Tip Rolling.

You see for months now I only used one tip, the Spring Tips. Until today they had the best result on all my IEMs. It didn’t matter which IEM I used, the result were always better sound quality and fit with the Spring Tips. So I stopped using any default tips that came with the IEMs, until this morning when I threw up a Hail Marry attempt to gain a possible better seal and better bass levels. I knew the default tips were thicker because I used the same tips on the Dusk so I had no reason to think that this tip would do something magical for me but I decided one more attempt before I give on better sound quality. I mean it was good, don’t get me wrong, and better than the Blessing 2’s but only by a small margin. I just hoped for more and I got tired of hearing from the top reviewers that I respected claiming that this sound quality was so much better than I experienced that I believed I might have gotten a bad pair or something.

So I took off my trusted Spring tips and put on the medium default tips for the Blessing 3 and bam! The power came with the bass, the clarity stayed, the mid-range stayed balanced without any bleeding, the timbre got even better, and the treble details opened up the imaging even more. It was like I brand new pair of IEMs. Now everything great said about them started to be seen by me almost immediately. The connection to the emotions, the dynamics, and the overall warmth and realism came forward like a tornado. I was taken back and blown apart with the difference this made for my ears. I felt like I woke up in a world that everybody else was living in but me until now. All the promises Moondrop made about the engineering of this IEM and its drivers all started to make sense. And ultimately where that took me was the realism that I couldn’t go backward now. And so the IEM, The Blessing 2 and Dusk are now the ones I have to consider getting rid of and not the Blessing 3 because the sound difference is that evident(just like other respected reviewers have already said). Ultimately everything is subjective and my ears are different from others. So even what I am saying might be opposite for you. The default tips could by the problem for you and using the spring tips or some other might create your magic sound connection with the Blessing 3. All I’m saying is to give it a try if you find yourself underwhelmed over the performance of the Blessing 3. It could very well be as easy as a tip swap.
