Well the saga continues with the Blessing earphones for my life. I keep going back and forth over this whole line up. And just when I think I got it figured out, something happens to throw the whole game off again. Look, there is really no denying that I think the whole line up of Blessings are about as good as life gets in the IEM department under the $500 range or higher. Are there other Headphones that People like talking about? Sure. That’s what happens every week. A new contender comes out and everyone forgets about what they just said days ago about something else. It’s pretty bad that you really can’t trust yourself with any IEM. Then on top of all that are the little things that change things like tips, positions, and even power. And this is where things are for the Blessing 3. I kept wondering why I was so in love with this sound at times and then at others I felt something was missing. And then it hit me, every single time I was blowed away by these IEM’s were after I used them on my MacBook Air plugged directly into the port. And when I wasn’t blowed away was when I used my iPhone and Apple Dongle. For some reason, even though this has a High DM ratio of 120dms …for some reason they don’t power well with cell phones like they should or like other earphones perform. When on my MacBook Air, the dynamics were so much stronger, bass was more impactful, rich and full bodied and the imaging got even better along with the sound staging. And every time this performed like this….I could feel myself looking back over at my Moondrop Blessing 2 and thinking…it’s over…this is a clearly better replacement and evolution of its line. Even when I used the Blessing 2 on my MacBook Air …it didn’t result in the same level of advantages. So I just simply thought I was getting things wrong and then I would leave the house and plug in my dongle into my iPhone and right away I would feel like something was missing, not making the connection between the MacBook Air and my iPhone’s power. But now that I know, it feels better. At least I know how to get a consistent performance out of them now and can decide later if I want to add a more advanced dongle for more power on the go for my iPhone. So if you are out there feeling like the Blessing 3 should be doing more, it’s more or less connected to the power draw of your source. Using an iPhone and its 3.5 DAC dongle isn’t enough power to truly standout like it should .
