The Soundcore Liberty 4 NC is out and it has a bunch of people all over YouTube praising this product. And one of the main reason why they are praising it is because of the price of $79-$99 depending on you getting the early-bird special. And who can blame them? For under $100 you can get a 50 hour battery powered earphone with LDAC, ANC, Transparency mode, custom EQ, 10 hours on the each charge, small case, 3D surround modes, and 6 mics, along with wireless charging. There is no other earphone on the market that delivers on all that they do in app and on the make up of the earphone at under $100 and Soundcore deserves a lot of credit for once again disturbing the order of things. But before you run out and buy this unit there is needs to be some realistic understanding that you need to understand to bring things back to reality.

For starters the Liberty 4 is still the best Earphone ever made at $129! It is still better at sound quality, mics for phone call quality, looks, and features easily. Even though all of the YouTubers out there want you to believe that the Liberty 4 NC is the next Flag ship earphone…it isn’t. It was never built to do be a flag ship and unfortunately when YouTubers over-try and sell a product you can cause more damage than helpful pushing . The Liberty 4 NC despite all the hype is still a budget earphone that was made with a reduction of a features that made the Liberty 4 stand out. It was never designed for those of you that wanted better tech. It was designed for those who wanted less tech for less money. So every time any company does this, it results in a product that is less than the previously more expensive versions that came before it. So please keep this in mind and lower you expectations. You are getting the best $79 earphone ever made possibly, yes. But it won’t beat the Liberty 4 in sound quality( soundstage, imaging, balance, and mids), features, nor phone quality because it was designed with weaker tech internals. It even has a more archaic oversized stem, something more advanced models have struck down for models that have stems for the last couple of years. It also doesn’t have the dual drivers or the mic quality for the phone calls as mentioned so the package allows it to come in at a cheaper cost because this is never meant to be better than the Liberty 4 or replace it.

This doesn’t mean that if you don’t already own the Liberty 4 and don’t want to speak the extra $30 to get a more complete and better experience, that you can’t enjoy what they offer on the 4 NC. It does give you better battery life as a result of less tech and it does give you touch controls over physical controls on the Liberty 4, if you like those better and can get over the long tail design of the stem returning from the past. Overall, it variety and having that variety gives Consumers choice and this is where Soundcore is kicking butt and taking names. So go out and get you one or the other, I’m sure you will find enjoyment regardless.
