In a Shocking turn of events, the Soundcore Liberty 4 still stands as king of the hill! Yes folks, right after experiencing possibly the best sounding and best acting ANC earphone in my history of Bluetooth device, the Bose QC II did something I should have expected and had concerns over with as many people reporting it… it stopped connecting.

This is the same issues I read about but wasn’t going through and so I assumed that it wasn’t with my unit obviously because mine was connecting for several days now and if that problem was going to show up, it would have done it by now. But I was totally wrong. It showed up indeed and it sucks. I absolutely hate when a earphone has connection problems. It’s within my top 3 things I can not live with when buying a earphone.

  1. It can’t sound bad,
  2. it can’t cause pain wearing,
  3. it can’t not have connection problems.

I can’t believe that this has happened. This Bose QCII was the most exciting earphone I have ever used in my life. It was amazing and not replaceable by anything I currently have. It was the first Bluetooth earphone that I was willing to put aside all of my IEM for. The review was going to be glorious. And now it’s going to be a huge letdown. In a span of 12 hours…this earphone has gone from the greatest thing I’ve witnessed in sound tech to something I can no longer stand by and point others to getting. In fact, it’s the opposite…my advice is to stay clear from the Bose QCII. It might work for you the first week or so but if you end up updating the firmware, which it does automatically, you will eventually run into my problem. And if you end up listening to the sound signature and falling in love with it, when it starts to go out …it will hurt even more.

So now the $120 miracle of earphone becomes even more special. Yes it was already punching well past its weight in sound, features, and fit. And yes if not for the Bose, it would have been the #1 earphone for my life. So with that being the reality now…it, by default, becomes my #1 bluetooth earphone again because I can’t depend on the Bose. Even if I can manage to get this to reactivate to my phone…when will it happen again, and most importantly is the question to “Why should I have to deal with this especially for $300 earphone that can’t do true multi connection?” And even though nothing I have ever worn gives me this level is complete dominance that the Bose delivered before this, if I can’t trust you …I can’t use you.

NOTE : If you still want to get the Bose QCII…the only advice I have is to possibly hurry up and do all your EQ’g and adjustments before remove the internet connection options and bluetooth options from the app. This way you phone is solely responsible for connecting to it …which I believe might help the connectivity issues. Sadly I didn’t follow these steps. Also know that the settings you set in the app should save unto the unit so you won’t have a need to open up the app anymore. This way, the firmware won’t upload automatically. Only downside to this is that you won’t have the ability to use one earphone at a time ..which is was in part what the firmware update was to bring but this is not at all important to me because I never understood the need. The whole point of earphone is to wear both and create a Nice sound and the if you need exterior ..this is what the transparency mode is for. But again, that’s just my logical mind.
