I know a lot of playstation fanboys out there have really hated what Xbox and Microsoft has managed with Activision. And while I don’t believe in any trillion dollar company gaining more power as a good thing, I can humbly say that Sony needed this. They need to understand that they must do more for the fans that have made them into the company that they are. They need someone that is a threat to their way of comfort that they have held on to for multiple generations. And like it or not All Fans of Playstation need to be happy about the Activision deal because it has put pressure on Sony to do things like drop the price of the Ps5 not even a year after talks of rising the price and off the heels of Microsoft confirming that the Xbox is going to rise the price as well.

So above is a result of the price discounts coming to the Playstation that I don’t believe would have come if not for the Activision deal and its attention that it has gained with the gaming community. And even as an exclusive Playstation 5 player, I am more thankful for others to get a hold of the Ps5 too, even if it’s at a better price that I paid for mine. Why? Because more gamers mean more innovation and stability across the industry, which means better games. But once again, this is just a tip of the iceberg in my opinion. As the deal reaches its closure and the games start to appear more and more on Gamepass, I foresee Sony doing more and more for its fanbase, which is what they were trying to avoid because they know this means less extra profit. The sad part is that this profit was always sacrificial and ready for them to tap into and it wouldn’t mean that they had no profit …just less. And it is there that Sony remained greedy in and shouldn’t. So again, thanks to Microsoft and Activision, we might be seeing more deals, more attention to details , and even more innovations from Sony than we have seen in the last 5-10 years or more, and I can’t wait.
