Look we all know Sony has been one of the best leaders when it comes to earphones. However, their choice to include only foam tips for their latest wf1000xm5’s has left some users in the dark. While they listened to the complaints about the size of the xm4 the foam tips remained the only option for the new xm5’s. And while some people like foam tips my ears just don’t take to them. I was never able to hold on to a good seal which effected everything from the sound, comfort, and overall ANC. Well, if you have some silicon tips laying around they just might be the final step needed to make the new Xm5 everything they should have been.

Me personally, I pulled out my old trusted and true Final Audio Silicon tips. And let me tell you, they made all the difference in the world for me. I didn’t struggle with them in my ears nor did I even have to think about creating a seal. With these tips, it was automatic and effortless. They were comfortable and didn’t create any case issues with closes or charging. So there you go folks, if you got the xm5 and thought that these could have been better for sound, fit, or ANC this could be the cure of what ills you. Give it a try before returning them, you might be surprised.

Correcting that problem with fit has given this new life. It finally feel more competitive with my Bose and other brands. Now I can see myself wearing them more. Now instead of a 8.5 I would give this a 9.3 like I originally thought they would get when I first got them. The ANC is better with the proper seal with these tips for my ears. The soundstage is wider and overall bass and richness is present.
