Look I get it. I’m the first person to go try the new hotness and think that I have reinvented what sound is with them. But every time I try and step into this line of thinking and go back to my Sennheiser’s I’m alway put back into reality. And that reality is and has been that Sennheiser has the best overall sound of any earphone on the market PERIOD. You can go get the new Sony’s Xm5’s all you want and they smoke em. You go get the Nothing ears 2, Soundcore, Bowers and Wilkins and B&O play earphones every time they release a new batch of earphones and when the smoke clears…it’s still Sennheiser.
From fit, feel, look, touch controls, apps, features, and even phone call quality… very few can even match them let along beat them in all these areas. Yes, you can find one of two that will win in 1 or 2 areas but not overall, never overall. Sennheiser’s ability to understand what the ear hears and how to give the user that right amount of support to achieve that goal of their personal test is just outstanding. The soundstaging, vocals, timbre, bass, mids, and highs are just on a different unique level. And most people can attest to this. Those of us that have these all say that it’s a unique sound signature that they get from these that is unmatched by anything on the market.
So then why do people not stay? Because of their history with glitches. Either it’s their inability to get out proper firmware to correct bugs, or their inability to give things like “multi-pairing” on time at launch or even within months of the release that allows the door to stay open for people to try other products. At least that is what always happens to me and then once Sennheiser firmwares fixes those issues months and months later, i’ve already purchased other earphones. But make not mistake about it, once I put them back in and they work, there is no earphone that matches them. And so I stand here in complete amazement at just how much i’ve missed using them now that their latest firmware is said to fix issues and add even more excitement in the app. If they ever come out with MTW 4…I’m getting them but until then, now that their fixed and working better with this new firmware…all these other earphones days are over for my pocket. I return to the Champion of 2022.
