Another month and another earphone comes out. This time the brand is Jabra. Now, Jabra hasn’t been the top of list for everyone when it comes to the earphone of choice. They always seem to attach themselves to a specific niche of people and followers. For the vast amount of others they were considered one of those 2nd tier earphones along with brands like Soundcore and Jaybird. They either lacked the wow factor of bass, sound quality, or Noise canceling strength. So yes, I assumed this year would be no different.

But I wanted to give them a try and did. I had already started hearing rumors that these could be the upset earphone of year. So when I got it off the shelves at the store, I will say I was interested the moment I saw the box. It was a little more interesting than their past styles. It was more modernized and exciting. Then once I opened it up to the case I started to feel the quality. It was so nice in the hand, not too big and flat. Then when you opened it up, that soft rubberized leather like fell of the earbuds just had me all giddy inside. The curves of the buds themselves looked like a mold taken right out your ear by a professional ear doctor or something and the oval tip was completely different from any other brand.

So the 62.000 ears they tested really came into handy. This design really fit inside my ear once I put on the larger tips. Strangely enough, it was like they were floating in my ear thanks to the pressure venting system Jabra has been known for. It creates a simi-open design for the earphone that allows some air and noise to bleed into the sound of the earphones music to fool your ears into thinking that you don’t have anything in them. This adds to the sound of the music in transparency modes. But what’s truly impressive is that even with a open design the NC worked very impressively.

The app allows you to change your EQ for your personal needs and gives you nice features to help with your own desires for phones calls and controls. It also has push buttons that don’t hurt your ears to use because they can be easily pushed without a lot of pressure. Then just when you think you have no more surprises , they go ahead and destroy the battery life claims of 6 and gives you like 9-10 hours, over delivering on their promise, which is rare these days.

Next, the sound is next and let me just say that they are very impressive there. While they won’t beat Bose’s in NC and Dynamics in sound or the Sonys bass and imaging, they have their own carved out path in sound quality that leaves you wanting more. The bass is just the right amount and the details in the mids and treble are throwing down with the best of the earphones out there. Now a lot of that comes from the combination of their air like feel linked to the venting and overall comfort of their position in your ears that adds to the quality of the sound and the feel of it. So you have to give them a lot of credit for that. Their signature is unique and ties into the venting they have inside their tech for these earphones which for me personally makes them my top choice to reach for because of my issues with pressure headaches, which earphones like the Sonys go against my needs because of their foam and lack of proper venting. In fact it’s so good that I believe they are better than the AirPods venting system. You actually never feel pressure even with ANC, something you do feel with the AirPods still when you use ANC.
And finally, unlike Sonys, Sennheiser, and Bose and other bigger brands earphones that always seem to have something wrong with their app, their connection, their firmware glitches, and just flat out drop connection or refuse to connect to your phone at random times. This earphone has zero connection issues, stutters, reboots, crashes, connection to app issues or any of the other stuff that plagues other so called top brands. It flat out works just like their promise, correction better than what they promised. And all other brands should be taking lessons from Jabra.
As of right now, I’m not going to lie, this feels like my sleeper Earphone Hit of the year and my most improved player of the year for earphones. So, well done Jabra! I couldn’t really have asked for more than what you delivered on with the Elite 10.
