In my life there are very few things that I place in Ultra high regards. Christ is the number one person, my family second and with tech, Sound instruments and Watches lead the way. Ever since I was 3 years old I had love for watches over all other things. I use to tape pictures of the watches I wanted but never could have on my wrist and pretend that I had them. As I got in my teenage years everything from Casio Data bank’s to G-shock’s ruled my watch life. But once I became an adult I sought after things like Seiko and Citizen watches. And then the worst thing happened, I saw Jason Bourne, Top gun and the Transporter movies and all I could think about was High-end Automatic movement watches. The absolute beauty of their movement, the mystery of it’s making, and the very nature of its heartbeat wow my mind and pulled on my heart. But there was one problem. The Money! Watches like that cost in the thousands and although I had brought things like Seiko Turtle’s in the $500 range, $8,000-$10k was not something I had ever put down on any item but a Car.

So I attempted to avoid spending this. I of course went to the Replica market to qual my desire to have these watches only to find out that they just didn’t work for me. No matter how good the fakes were ..they would just be fakes. They would never live up to the movement accuracy or the true weight and feel of the real thing. They would either break or fall apart over time. Pretty soon I realized that the money I’ve spent over the years on all the other watches could have almost paid for the 1 High-end that would last me forever So after 19 years I finally did it. I got myself an IWC TOP GUN!

Why IWC you might ask? Why not Rolex? For me Rolex’s are too small. I am not like the older generation of men that like 39mm and 40mm. I need something no less than 41-44mm for my watches. I also do like pancake watches. Flat watches without the girth and height just doesn’t work for me. I also hate Dashes and Dots for my numbers on the Dial. I don’t mind some but I hate when I see an all Dash watch face or an all Dot watch face. So things like Rolex and Omega were kinda out of the conversation. So when people like Lewis Hamilton, Tom Brady, Ryan Gosling, and Hans Zimmer(some of my most respected performers) show up with IWC I tend to pay attention. So when the Top Gun IWC Chrono became an active common ground on the wrist of these people, I knew that I had found my watch. It was strong, it was durable, it was athletic and yet could be worn with a suit, it has easy to read dials without a bunch of chaos on the dials or unnecessary gold or diamonds ( aka Breitling) and so for the first time in my life I spent thousands on my dream watch, my Grail watch, and I couldn’t be more happy. Everything from the perfect accuracy that hasn’t lost even 1 second since I got it, to the amazing durability of can take the doorknob crashes without a single mark, to the amazing comfort and perfect destiny of weight without feeling too light or overly heavy, it all is perfect and I couldn’t be more happy.
