The Mighty and Powerful PlayStation hasn’t had a good couple of months. Despite having the launch of Spiderman 2 take place, it had some criticism concerns on its push of plots and force of play of woke characters angles and political pushes of LGBT themes side-missions. While Sony, I’m sure, thought they were following the ever growing push for these things, some gamers seem to have other ideas of just wanting a good Spiderman game without agendas.
Now none of these thing means that they didn’t have a great exclusive launch overall but it does continue the concerns over the chink being in the Armor of PlayStation. With its failed attempt to stop Microsoft’s buyout of Activision and now the problems with the Bungie, layoffs, and profits lost, the future of PlayStation, for the first time this generation, is in the shadows with no apparent answer and no real leadership. They are missing “fill-in” titles that would normally hold them through rough patches and with their competition just now hitting their stride, it might prove problematic for Sony moving forward based on the info about upcoming titles. They have nothing but revisited god of war themes and rumors of yet another Last of us remaster coming next year, something no PlayStation owner asked for. Meanwhile, Metal Gear and Indiana Jones and others are on deck for Xbox, even on Gamepass day one.
Does this mean that Xbox will come back to win this generation? Absolutely NOT. But what this does do is place a huge amount of momentum going into next generation where Microsoft might just have the best chance to finally beat PlayStation if they remain consistent and humble, something PlayStation nor Xbox seem to be able to maintain when they finally get on top for long.
