A IEM that deserves a lot of credit is the Dunu Sa6 Mk2. It was the only IEM that truly made me second guess my thoughts on a killer buck IEM’s need. The Way it fit in my ears felt so amazing. It was like it was built for my ears. The look of the wood was truly unique and special to me as well. Even the case was different and special to my eyes and at $499 that you can get these now made this a issue for me when trying to justifying $999 IEM that didn’t really blow this unit out of the water. In fact if I’m honest with myself, if it wasn’t for the Azla tips I put on the Monarch Mk2 …it I would have been heading it’s way back to the store and I would have kept the Dunu Sa6 Mk2’s. But as luck would have it, there was another person that actually wanted this IEM more once they saw it and heard it, my Wife.

She was very happy to take over the ownership of them after listening to them. She even ranked them higher than her previous Thieaudio Hype 2, which again is a no wonder being that these are $500 and the Hype 2 was $300. But this still doesn’t take away from the fact that these $500 IEM punched well above their weight class and should be on a lot of peoples list for possible IEM end gamers depending on budgets.

However, once the dust settle …that still leaves “Kilgharrah”…aka Monarch Mk2 and these just have more dynamics, more power, more clarity, better resolution, and better timber and vocals. The only area I would give the nod to the Dunu vs the Monarch Mk2 was maybe Imaging. They seemed to absolutely kill the positioning and directional placement better than anything I’ve tested, even the Monarch MK2 and Oracle Mk2 for certain songs. Again, this is something to be proud of, just not enough to beat top tier Thieaudio IEM’s overall. But again, like I said ..it wasn’t meant to nor should it have at $499. The only truly disconnecting thing about the Dunu was it’s Microphonic cord. My wife found distracting at times and had to figure ways around minimizing it. The only minor thing I would was that turn it up showed its price tag more than anything. The sound became less precise and together. But this again is a minor because of how easy it is to drive so you most likely won’t need to turn it up very often.
