The IEM hobby is one that can bring about some crazy fanboys and fangirls alike. Each of use swearing that others are wrong or don’t have ears training to understand what truly sounds good. Sometimes it’s just a matter of the type of songs(rap, country, k-pop, classical, techno, etc, etc) the person listens to. Sometimes it as easy as the fit or the color. But regardless, it makes no real sense. Why would a $1000 IEM called Thieaudio Monarch MK2 be ranked higher than a $3500 IEM from Empire ears? Or why a person with a MoonDrop Kato be more pleased with their purchase than a person who but a Sennheiser ie600 or ie900? Sounds crazy but people out in the world have reported these very same things and I have to believe it’s not just a coincidence.

Huge amounts of fans will scream about one or more IEM, like a u12T by 64 audio. And yet some will say they aren’t worth the $2000 they are being sold for. Or the same thing can be said to a person who just laid down $3500 for the Odin because they believe it’s the best, only to have their conviction challenged by someone that reviewed the Final Audio a8000 or Fir M5’s.

Or the Part 2,3, or 4 can come out for a product you consider the best, only to have that product end up being nothing more than a side upgrade and not a true upgrade like you believed it to be. This will piss off many people to belief that they got duped into buying something that truly wasn’t a big enough upgrade to be labeled as such.

Some people move on and others don’t and they try and justify it to themselves because they spent the money and so they latch on to the smallest differences and make it bigger than it truly is so they can sleep at night. Or vice versa once an upgrade hits that they don’t have they try and make light of the new upgrade so they can sleep better.

So I decided to let my endgame be just what it was meant to be. A point where you have reached all your goals regardless of what may be more or even less expensive and better. What I know is that there is no such thing as undefeatable. I also know that even I bought the very best today, tomorrow will bring another better one. Whatever you today is subject to the need of the wearer. So no matter what ranking my IEM is today, it won’t remain there forever and so you will have to make your mind up today to not chance something that will be ever changing.
