The hobby of unending debates and arguments has no real meaning whatsoever. We humans always find a way to argue over or support some of the stupidest things. This applies to a tone of other areas but my example today is Audiophiles. I’m one of them but the direction and culture of this hobby is borderline insanity. Why? Because every single ear in the world never hears the same exact thing the exact way. It’s almost like a thumbprint. Every single thing you have ever been exposed to in sound has changed something about your ear’s frequency pick up. From the rock concert to the Walkman headphones you wore nonstop growing up. Even the car horn or bell that rang everyday in the halls of your school. Each of our brains processes those things differently over time to create a balance.

Therefore no matter what you think or believe, what your friend is hearing isn’t going to be exactly how you hear it or process it even under the same controlled environments or equipment. Therefore it is the most ridiculous things in the world to attempt to attack, challenge, put down, or place your experiences in things like Headphones, earphones, or IeMs against others. None of us hear the same even if we all have the opinion that something is good, even our opinions on that differ as to why or what level of that we take in or understand. While this might be known as fact, very few of us allow this to really take hold because it takes away our need to argue or feel superior in our opinions over another.

If Sam loves the Thieaudio Monarch MK2, he is a threat to the U12T lover over there simply because he said he liked something else. Why? Because it renders our personal opinion and subjective view worthless to anyone but us and that’s not good enough in most peoples minds. Basically, they need others to tell them they are right or to have the exact belief as them to find relevancy in their life. So they will never take this fact and stand on it but it’s the truth regardless and it’s shame that forms continue to be filled with people attacking others simply because someone dared to find something they like that isn’t someone else’s.
