So let’s get this out of the way right now! I’m new to the DAP game admittedly. I never was interested in an another device to stick inside my pockets while on the go. But of course, after seeing reviewers after reviewers sitting around listening to their IEMs with DAPs and not smartphones, I started to reconsider. They look really nice for the most part and look like they contain much more dedication towards music than a typical smartphone. And so when I saw the last review of Super Reviews about this DAP, the M300 get a 5 out of 5 star review at only $200 I had to try it out for myself.

Boy I wish I hadn’t! This goes on my list of the fastest returned tech products that I have ever purchased for myself. This thing was so, so bad. For starters the interface is super tiny. Sure it’s made for “Gen Z” but I’m not sure even that Generation of tech kids wants to look at a screen that small. But hey, who cares, I can still read it and use it. What I bought that product for was for sound quality and smaller factor anyway. And there lies the problem and focus. This sound quality was like listening to the first experiment of a digital music in history before they understood sound quality, codec, and or bit rate counts. This thing made my amazing $2000 U12T sound worse than a pair of wired apple earbuds. The Bass was so, so bad and the sound stage was gone and hollowed out. On top of that the power was basically non-existing. I had to basically play the volume at 70% just to get good sound from it at all. And to top that off …it created without a single rewind physical button, only a forward button and a pause button. The volume buttons also only worked if you weren’t using Spotify. If you had the spotify screen up …you had to exist that app in order to turn the volume up or down( maybe it’s a defect unit). Oh and if you’re thinking to yourself that you at least will get good play times…forget about it. The battery dropped from 80% to 65% just by playing music from 20 minutes.
Bottom line is that even at $50 …I think this was a complete waste of money. So needless to say I even tried to add my own DAC usb hifi dongle to this unit to see if I could say the sound at least. It made it louder, of course, but still had the same hollowed out sound quality and dead bass with the closed in soundstage. Look, do yourself a favor… Run from this product, I know I am. The grass isn’t greener folks, for those of you wondering if you Iphone with it’s lightning DAC dongle is inferrer, IT’s NOT…it’s at least 10X better than this crap. In fact , since I became a Audiophile, this has been the single worse purchase in my life for Audio equipment.
