I’m sure this isn’t a popular phone anymore in a lot of people’s mind. I mean it’s a iPhone last Gen model for crying out loud. The 15pro is even old by the standards today. We already have everyone going crazy over the Samsung ultra 24 models and even the 23 ultra still. Both of these models are considered better in features and looks over the iPhone 14pro even at its heyday.

But I will admit, my iPhone 14pro is still a great phone and everything I need. I’m still in love with my custom icon shortcut design. The black and white theme I have really stands out with my white case. I have nice battery life and amazing charging speeds and zero hiccups, crashes, or anything that requires maintenance. I also still have one of the best camera and video combo on any phone to date. In other words, it just works and works well.

And I guess that’s where I’m at these days. After my visit to my local Best buy I looked over all the smartphones, including iPhones and Samsungs and the overwhelming fact hit me, smartphones are baked. iPhones and androids phones are tapped out. The innovation is just not different enough to even consider going to another phone much less a different operating system. When I looked at the Samsung s24.. all I saw was the s23, and the 2 or 3 Samsungs prior to them. The interface, shape, movement, etc, etc. You tap, icon opens and looks the exactly the same as it did years ago. The keyboard, the phone app, the camera, the mail app, settings, YouTube, and even text app. It’s just the same thing with minor additions to gimmick features at best but ultimately, the same way you used your smartphone 5 years ago or more, you are using it this same way today minus a couple flexible screens on the market that have already played out its wow factor.

I guess I might be burnt out or something. I just don’t see the need for another smartphone more and more and this year it’s seems this thought is more present than before. They truly don’t stand out as an upgrade or a needed item as they once did and I truly think this isn’t a new discovery. I think less and less people are as hungry as they once were for new smartphones. Less people in lines for iPhone launches or Samsung phones across the board nowadays and I think this is comes from the inability to make themselves truly different from previous phones. It’s to the point now that you can just buy a note 20 or something and be as comfortable and 90% taken care of as you would be with the latest model.
Yes, Samsung and others are trying hard to implement AI into their phones and tech but at this time they are all nothing more than software gimmicks that were already being done before older phones, just repurposed as AI and none of them actually make your phone truly different from older models. So for me my iPhone 14pro is still brand new looking and still fast even though it’s almost two years old. But of course I would love to be blown away by something truly different, I just don’t see that happening anytime soon.
