Every year, I go through this. It’s like I’m reminded every year to be mad at Sony and Playstation when this game comes out. MLB is one of the most important titles exclusives that Sony lost for me. And what made matters worse is that they lost it to Xbox Gamepass. So, having two systems, I found reasons to not bother buying on Playstation.

Now, for me, I’m very practical in my assessments. So every year, like a crazy person, I have hope that Sony will one day for the right thing and put MLB on their subscription club for free like Xbox has done for it’s family of gamepass users on day one. Not only do they not put it on subscription options day one. It never comes free period the whole year or more, if ever. At best, you might be able to get a 50% discount after the year is up or closing out.

Playstation needs to understand that this doesn’t do them any favors by continuing to do this as more and more people are starting to own more than one way to access games more than ever before. Sony have got to find a way to look at things like this as a meaningful jester of good faith for their fans. Yes, Sony was forced to put this on Microsoft by the MLB licensed division, but this didn’t stop them from making the game free on their end for subscribers like Xbox did. They weren’t forced not to do this. They chose to do this to their gamers. And every year that they don’t make this right…makes me more likely to play more on my Xbox. And with no true major AAA coming for over a year, while Xbox has plenty, it gets really interesting.
