In all of tech there are the ONE’s. These are the unique and a standout of the game that truly change the game. When the come along they disrupt all things in the past and recreate future for it’s category that reshapes all others to follow. Apple did it with the Iphone. Sony did it with Playstation. And now Denon has done it with the Perl Pro aka NEO(My Nickname for it). Right off the heels of reviewing a game changer in the unheard of name braquet, The Technics AZ80 were just reviewed and really proved that name brands unknown or not a popular, can still shake up things. Denon is yet another unknown brand or a less popular brand. Because just like the Technic’s, Denon isn’t a known brand compared to the Sony’s, Sennheiser, or the Bose.

And yet, they also proved that billions of dollars isn’t needed to get their product out the right way nor respected. The earphone is now my NUMBER 1 earphone. It’s sound quality took over as the best I’ve ever heard on the bluetooth realm even after getting the Sennheisers tw 4’s. The sure expanse of soundstage and instrument separation is on levels I don’t even have with IEM’s. Its bass is powerful, thumping, and emotional. The mids are in rare form and the treble is every bit of detail ever needed. It’s immersive in everything it pushes out in every music style. From Asmr, Podcast, house, rap, rnb, classical, to Metal. All genre sounds absolutely amazing and better in almost every way thanks to the way it processes sounds. Not a single song or item played through it sounded on par with anything ever used. It’s created a level above anything in bluetooth and to me has redefined greatness in sound. The use their Adaptive Acoustic sound tech to measure your specific sound design of your ears to achieve this and let me tell you …it not a gimmick like it is with other bluetooth tech similar.

Now, with that said, as with all products, nothing is perfect. Although the size fits my ears perfect and flat, the look and fit might not be for everyone. They also could have been more exact in it’s touches on the surface, as it seems to have a slight delay to it’s response that makes you sometimes have to put in touches more than once. Another issue with a direction that they took that might not be the favorite for all is the requirement of Adaptive ANC for optimal sound quality. Basically the praise of sound quality that this thing gets over every single earphone on the market today can only be heard if you leave the Adaptive ANC. This type of tie in was something that use to happen when ANC first started showing up in earphones in the beginning of the tech. So not sure why they are still using this requirement direction but I’m willing to keep it on to have this sound I’m hearing but for others out there this might be a deal breaker. I personally don’t see any battery issues with having the Adaptive ANC on as it last a long time even with this on all the time but I’m sure I would get even more if I didn’t use it. Lastly, their Social mode ( ambient mode for other earphones) require a lower down of music volume while in use. And while I understand why it may be useful, I would like more control over how loud my music stays even when using the Social mode, similar to how the Sennheiser and Airpods work.

So as a whole though…this is MY VERY BEST and New #1 Bluetooth earphone, it’s not perfect as with all things but I will say that beyond any complaints about their direction they took to create such a amazing product, I would still take those minor inconvenience to continue to have my standout in sound like what is produced here. I also love the unique look( didn’t like it at first but it grew on me) and being different from anything else ever used in the majority of all other brands. Denon’s Perl Pro is a true 1 of 1 series of creations, and they should be proud of themselves because they have clearly blown my mind.
UPDATES: “THE ONE”…perl pro failed on me, hours after this review. The right earphone just shut off by itself while listening, and then the left side started to make shorting out sounds. Yes, it worked after putting them back into the case. But now I’m not sure what to trust. I’m so tired of bluetooth earphones not living up to basic standards of just working. I know anything made can be flawed but when companies like Technics Az80 has no cut outs, no software bugs, no drops, and no feature that doesn’t work like it should …why can’t other do it? I’m not sure where things will land now for me. I’m not sure what to trust. So buy at your own risk, maybe it was just a glitch in the Matrix…something that needed to change like a deja-vu:).
