You know, as I sit here listening to my tracks on my Variations, something profound hit me. Well, it’s actually something I mentioned briefly on my review. I’ve had so, so many Moondrops IEMs. I’ve trusted this single company for 60% of all my IEM in my whole life. And as I look back over every single one of them from the Starfields, Kato, and even to the Blessings three headed brothers to the now Variations and all the other ones in-between, not a single time in my life have I been disappointed and always got performances that punched well above their price tags.

As I grow older, I’m starting to see things fade away from my interest. The importance of peace in my life is more important than it has ever been. I’m finding joy in just sitting still, and it’s needed. I still make sure to exercise and not become a couch potato because I still take pride in looking the best I can for my wife. But things like video games, Djing and mixing music, and even playing guitar have all but faded. But listening to music and enjoying sounds, whether it’s podcast or Asmr, remain the priority of all my hobbies. But the need to chase the tools to do so has dropped off. These last few months, I believe I have been in a race to eliminate the unnecessary things in my life. I’m tired of the rat race of grabbing the next hype, if I’m honest.

This is where Moondrops Variations play an important step in this direction. I knew I wanted to get rid of the overlaps and the excessive objects. Having a $2000 64 audio u12t was on my first page of things to let go. The law of diminishing returns was just too great of a huddle to overcome with that IEM. While it was great, it never proved to be a $2000 worth of sound object, let alone prove it was $1500 better in sound nor in build quality over a $300-$500 IEM. Some could make the argument again the Variations, I bet, but for me, I wanted no less than a Tribrid EST IEM but didn’t want to pay over $500 for it. So when I saw this for $440(eBay has them on sale for evem lower $360), it seems to be the right time for my choice for my life moving forward. The sound gives me everything I want. The comfort and cable feel as it wraps around my ears is the best I’ve ever felt. It fits my ears like a custom mold.

And all of my different genres of music, podcasts, or even movies and Asmr plays so perfectly with these. No compromise to bass, sub-bass, mid, or treble is here for my ears. And I want to thank Moondrop for such a great product, yet again. I don’t know where my IEM life would have been without this company. Not a single time have their product let me down in their performance and has been my most consistent loved IEM brand over and over again. And every time I sold one of my moondrop IEM to buy the next hype from another brand, I always found my way back to moondrop for another of their products. So it’s no wonder why I landed on them as my stopping stage for IEMs. Are there other IEMs out there better, sure. I’m just tired of competing and comparing when I can just rest on this and get everything I want. It’s going to feel great leaving yet another round-and-round concept of my life, becoming more minimal and purposeful. So thanks, Moondrop, for being that one constant brand and direction in my life for IEMs.
