There is so much that has to go right with bluetooth earphones these days. They have to fit, they have to get the weight right, they have to get the size of the case right, they have to get anc and Hear thru right, the look, the price, etc, etc. Denon perl pro is no exception to these things either.

However, things are a little different for my approach this time around. I’m a lot more laid back about things this time around. This is my 3rd Denon Perl Pro. So yes, I’m a little worse for wear when it comes to the patience with this product than I would have if this was the same product I originally purchased for the first time and had not went out on me. The first had a driver issues, and the second one just stopped connecting to the case or my phone. And this one hasn’t really followed those trends so far. It’s worked as dependable as the very best I’ve experienced. Why? I don’t know. Is this the real results or a weird example where bad tech just worked out like a broken clock being right twice a day. Or is the a case of sure bad luck and finally I have the normal results of their hard work and what I should have gotten prior?

I’m not sure which is right now. But I will give credit for today only. They are the richest sound, have the best Timbre, and best instrument separation combo ever in bluetooth I’ve seen. Of course, it has things I don’t like. Only the Az80 held my crown as the first perfect earphone without failure on what they promised. But just flat out listening to Asmr, songs, movies, or audible, these things really have no equal in that process. Now, if I could get 52 hours of battery life on an already stellar sound, we would be looking at close to perfection. But that’s just not there. You have to be good with the limited charge cycles you will get between charging the case. If you drain the battery down on the earphones completely, the case can only get you back to 80% before it turns red on the recharge cycle. You don’t get 3 complete 8 hour charges equaling 24 hours as promised on the box or on the site. And that in itself is a very big deal for me when companies do this. Don’t lie and claim battery life results that have to be achieved through some sort of magic code. 8 x 3 =24 …so I shouldn’t have a world where this 24 divided by 8 doesn’t equals 1.5 times or even 2. It should always be 3.

I don’t like lies or blue Pills, and it prevents this from being trusted by me completely. It, at least, helps with a good 7-8 hour use on the earphone before you have to put them in case. Then the combination of the sound, fit, phone call quality, its reliability (so far), and price not being $400 like some other earphones helps me deal with daily charging cycles. So this has helped it has overtake my negative feelings and placed itself as my first reached for earphone. I also really appreciate the look of these for some reason. The slight silver with a touch of smoked steel around the edges really stands out for me.

For my recommendation part of these, it’s a mixed bag. I would love to beat my chest and scream to the hills about the sound and how great these sound and make me feel when I wear them during my Asmr, podcast stories, and music. I would love to tell you or remind you that it doesn’t matter what you bring against them …nothing wins over these in sound quality, not even the Bower wilkins pi8, Bang and Olufsen, Az80’s, or my favorite priced and all around performer the Earfun Air pro 4’s, Sennheiser, Sony, or even the mighty Cambridge Audio m100. Nothing! But none of this I can do because this is my 3rd pair, and nobody should have to go through 3 pairs of any product to have something that works right. So I can’t recommend them while I sit here in a music heavenly zone with them on right now, I still can’t tell you that I have faith that when I wake up tomorrow, they will still work as they do now.
If you do pick these up and have a good result, you will most likely find your music life forever changed. The level of spacious separation with its soundstage that is just not touched by anything I’ve heard in earphones today will be your results, too. And you will never want to go back to anything less moving forward. I really do hope that I have a good pair, but I wouldn’t bet any money that even if mine is good that the next 3 pair sent out the door by Denon won’t have some underlying thing wrong with them and that’s why I can’t recommend “The single greatest sounding bluetooth in the world today”. At the end of the day, though, you might be like me, stupid, and a sucker for great sound, and find yourself buying them multiple times even if something is wrong with them because they sound that great.
