Man, this almost escaped me to do this comparison. They are the two most balanced, affordable, and yet most powerful feature to performance ratio on the market today. The Earfun Airpod 4 vs. the Cambridge Audio M100 is here to fight! So, lets the war begin!

Price: Winner Earfun Air Pro’s 4!

There is little to talk about here. Although both products are below $160, the Earphone Air Pro 4’s just take the cake at $80. They are truly without compromise at this price. They stand head and shoulders over every single earphone in their $80 price range. So much so, they don’t really belong in that category, it actually unfair because they don’t deliver like any low priced earphone ever has in this realm of Bluetooth earphones. At $159 for the Cambridge Audio M100( aka Feyd Rautha..my nickname given to it), it just doesn’t compete for the lowest price against the Earfun Pro 4’s.

Fit: Cambridge Audio M100…aka Feyd Rautha

The Cambridge Audio M100 wins this category for me personally. Let me explain! Although on any other normal day I would give the victory to the L shaped contender because typically the fit the most people the most. But one very important feature left out by Earfun that affected me greatly and is the main reason why they are not my go to anymore, is the fact that they are missing Venting. For me, it doesn’t matter what a product does for me and how many features it has or even how much it cost if it doesn’t have Venting. Pressure build up isn’t an option for my life with earphones or headphones. I medically suffer for migraines due to a brain disease I was diagnosed with in 2011. So I don’t need any help creating head pressure or headaches. The Cambridge M100 has it and they sit in my ears and disappear without any discomfort and therefore wins this round.

Features: EarFun Air Pro 4’s

While both of these earphone have amazing features, especially for their prices, the Earfun Air Pro 4’s comes out swinging with their set of features that goes toe to toe with any brand anywhere! This thing is jammed packed with options from LDAC and APTX Lossless, 24 bit sound, to snap dragon sound, and matching the Cambridge Audio 52 hours of battery life. It also will have Auracast as well. Very impressive phone call quality, impressive ANC and hear thru. The Cambridge has the Snap-dragon sound too, 24 bit as well, good ANC and hear thru as well. They both contain the 52 hours of battery life but the LDAC is missing from the Cambridge Audio along with the Earfun’s App that delivers more useful options, 5.4 bluetooth, and EQ presets. And again, this is the $80 earphone. So yes, the Earfun Wins Features.

Phone Call Quality: Earfun Air pro’s 4

Another victory for the Earfun 4’s again. This was not really a contest. L shaped earphones seem to always have really good voice call quality. Don’t get me wrong, the Cambridge has good and decent phone call quality but I’m told not all of them do. Some of them ship with cleaner mic pick-ups and some don’t. Even though my has good pick up ..the Earfun’s just beat them with better pick up and cleaner tones. Maybe it’s the bluetooth 5.4 tech or something else but whatever it is…it works better if you are going to ask me to compare.

Sound : Cambridge Audio M100 aka Feyd Rautha

And here comes the Beast killer…Feyd Rautha. The Cambridge M100 is just a better quality of sound of over the EarFun. This is a area that things like their Class A/B amplification really kicks in and you can tell a difference in the volume levels and quality of the vocals and instruments. Even with the LDAC support on the Earfun they don’t manage the same levels of crisp sound and power coming from the M100. It truly shows there is a something different and a reason why you pay for $160 for one and $80 for the other in this category. Feyd Rautha stands in with this victory with a confirming stance. But to the credit of the Earfun …they are great sounding earphones, let it be known, but there is only but one earphone( Denon Perl Pro) I’ve placed over the M100 in sound. It has destroyed 99% of every earphone I’ve put it up against. So to lose against this one earphone isn’t truly a shame, all have pretty much.

Controls : Cambridge Audio M100…aka Feyd Rautha

While both of these earphone have touch controls, they are different in their results. At first I would have easily given it to the EarFun 4’s because they have custom controls. But as fate would have it, the controls are not alway responsive. I’ve used them at times and they didn’t even respond to me. It doesn’t happen a lot but it has happen enough times for me to count this against them. On top of that the surface is so small to use that this also stops the activation of the commands sometimes. But not the Cambridge M100. Every single time you need it, it activates accurately. They are easy to activate without have to push on your earphone to cause discomfort when the earphone pushing deeper in you ear. It registers my light touches perfectly.

Reliability: Winner and Victor…..Feyd Rautha

Finally the Tie breaker on deck, Reliability. This is a very important category for me. And while both are very reliable compared to some nightmares that I’ve had out of others, there is one that is better. The M100 is just a better product. It works and doesn’t not work unless the sensors get dirty for the pause and play function but that’s more about maintenance more than failure. The Earfun unfortunately does show that a $80 price tag has some tell-tell concessions. The software app and the unit sometimes refuses to allow you to use features or communicate properly randomly. You have to put the earphones back into the case and then everything is perfect again. But these events do happen and they are not always the same issues and functions that go awry. While it isn’t a deal breaker it is something that you don’t have to worry about with the Cambridge M100…aka Feyd Rautha!
