We continue our conversation with the Bose Quietcomfort earbuds II. I personally think these earphones have been slept on. The things that Bose did with this model and its cost are just legend, in my opinion.
Let’s not take for granted, just how great sounding these things are. Bose has always had the bass that equals IEMs. But with this model… they have added amazing soundstage and separation with their outstanding dynamic sound signature. They allow for EQ adjustments in their app that allow you to fine-tune things even more.
And speaking of apps… this app is such a game changer for Bose. It’s a departure of the previous one that causes so many issues with the earphones. This means no more glitches that Bose earphones have struggled with. Along with the app comes features that are useful, like customization for touch controls and amazing battery info that tells you what you have left in battery life. And speaking of battery … they over delivered there(just look at the amount hours I have left after 45 minutes of listening above for music and phone calls). Their website only promises 8 hours. I love it when companies over deliver on their promises. This is flat out amazing and the charge times are ridiculously fast too, unlike my other earphones like my PI8 or my Technics Az80’s which take forever to charge back up the earphones when you use them and put them back in the case. I’ve used the Bose for 1 hour, and they were completely charged back to 100% in less than 10 minutes. Hence, the nickname I gave it in honor of one of my favorite groups of characters…”The Endless.”
The comfort, the power to shut off the world, and live in another world of my choosing are such a great ability and can’t be overlooked. I can’t tell you how many times I have been let down by even my other favorite earphones in times of comfort, battery life, or the ability to shut out the world. It’s so refreshing to have the Bose quietcomfort earbuds II. As I mentioned before in other articles, with the Bose, I miss nothing from other earphones when I wear them even if other earphones, like my Pi8’s are better in sound over the whole world of bluetooth earphones. The Bose QC earbuds 2nd edition checks so many boxes and sounds so good that I only notice anything better when I use those earphones, never when I’m just using the Bose. But when I use the others, I do miss the charging times, battery life, hear thru, customization, or ANC of the Bose.
I guess you can say that I was caught off guard with the ability to be more useful in my life than my pi8’s. Yes, the pi8s are still the best sounding earphones in the world. They are just not as well rounded in their dominance in all areas, especially in things like battery life and other features. In fact, I will say that the Bose Quietcomfort Earbuds 2nd edition just might be the best earphone released in 2024 as far as most things that check the boxes that are actually useful and not just gimmicks. It’s not perfect( has some connection issue sometimes when you take them from the case on first connection), but for the things I need it for the most …it absolutely kills it.
