For myself, I have had some many knives from Benchamde and Spyderco. Each company presents a different approach but still both get the jobs done. I’ve had the Bugouts, 940’s, Freaks, Bailouts, the Manix, the paramilitary 2’s, and even great steels like the m4’s, s90v, s35vn, m390’s, Bd1n,and even Cruewear. Basically, I’ve enjoyed my knife life and dud my best buy never being biased to one brand or another.

However, going backward has never been my style for knives. If I let you go, then you are gone. There are just too many knives for me to waste time rebuying, was stance and I never broke it until recently. The line up of the Para, in my opinion, based on the feel, the grind, reliability, and locking mechanism, is the greatest knife series ever made. It’s perfect in its length, and with this version of the lightweight, the weight is fantastic.
I knew all this before i got rid of it in favor of the standard model. Why? I’ve just had problems getting the thought of the word lightweight to me weaker. And what i should have focused on was cut weight, which can still be strong. And that’s exactly what this is. Regardless of the term lightweight, the knife is strong and perfect in its balance and fit into the pocket or hands.

For years, I’ve never missed a single knife more than I did with the lightweight Para 3 All Black edition. Even the BD1N was a welcome sight over my S90v steels a lot of my other knives have. Can’t tell you how limited the s90v is to being able to sharpen back compared to knife steels like S30v, M4, or BD1N. This thing is so sharp and so easy to put an edge on all while still giving you close to the cutting times of s30v.
The knife pocket clip was also missed by me. Contrary to others, I never damage my pocket clip. Never once have I ever had one damaged, so the fear of this doing something crazy is the furtherest thing from my mind. I actually love the way it slides out of my pants pocket and how deep it allows the knife to be without causing problems, pulling the knife from the pocket, or damaging the pocket.
So I repurchased it, and as soon I pulled it from the box, it was already drop-shut perfect without a single adjustment needed, just like I remembered it was the first time I got it. I mean, this is just not something that normally happens. The pivot screw adjustment is almost always guaranteed to be needed, but it wasn’t. The degree of built is just outstanding, and Spyderco deserves so much credit for this Knive and Series. At the end of the Day …a tool has got to feel second natured to the user, and nothing in the knive world feels like this more than the Para 3 lineup and for me, specifically, the lightweight edition.
