The Great and Mighty Playstation console! There is no doubt that most gamers in the world today have Playstations. The platform had been the most dominant franchise in history. The consoles sell over 150 million every single generation. Basically, for generations, gaming was Playstation, and Playstation was gaming. Not even giants like Microsoft could figure a way to beat Playstation at its own game despite the money they had, and despite giving away games and consoles, the idea of Playstation still won out.  Their weapon of choice was game exclusive and the craze of the fanboy community.

But something happened that changed everything for Playstation and gaming as you know it. Microsoft gained more power and control of third-party companies like Activision. By doing this, they were given the ability to change the narrative. With this opportunity, Microsoft attacked Playstation not by competing with exclusives vs exclusives, but by changing the narrative of exclusives being the best thing for gaming. Microsoft observed the financial status of gaming and saw a trend that only a handful of companies were just beginning to see. That was that gaming was becoming too expensive to maintain in its current condition of exclusive formats. By opening the doors and casting the conversation that games deserve to be on as many platforms as possible to help maximize the growing cost of game making and profits. The problem with this idea is that only the platform whose foundation was built off exclusives would be hurt the most, i.e., Playstation. Microsoft on the other side of the table would only gain from it because of the number of third-party developers they owned and due to the fact that they could never match Playstation exclusives or console sales. This mixed with the idea that gamepass had to succeed meant that they could use this as a sort of exclusive benefit to get games to their fans for free while sending those same games to other platforms and asking for them to be bought there. This places Microsoft in the driving seat financially, which is all they care about. They never cared about fanboy pride or the number of consoles because that world was dying. They cared about profit and residual income, the new world that is being made now.

For Playstation, they have no choice but to move forward with the same weapons. Consoles sales and exclusives still provide the fuel to keep going, but that road is closing down very quickly. So the ps5 pro launches, and it is, to my surprise, the console that ps5 should have always been. It is the most powerful console on the market today. Contrary to my thoughts in YouTube videos, the console does actually outperform every single console on the market. In such a small amount of time of being on the market, the ps5 pro has gotten upgrades to games like Madden 25, NBa 2k 25, Fifa 25.. and these have been my cornerstone of gaming. No longer are they the best on the Xbox series X, as they once were. Now, the Ps5 Pro easily proves they are the best place to play for the games I love. The frame rates are even better, and the graphic is much more realistic and textured. Even the sound quality is jumped. It is truly impressive to see how much the Playstation placed into the Pro in such a quick amount of time and updates. This tells me the adaption to this tech is going to increase easily.

Then the 2nd biggest achievement to this is that upon the pros’ success… Microsoft is creating the world’s first perfect consolebby its own actions, a ps5 with access to the Microsoft games. Titles like Indiana Jones and Fable are coming, along with many, many more are set to be on Playstation. No longer will we need an Xbox for their exclusives because they no longer care about them. So the Playstation fanboys have the best of both worlds, and on paper, it looks like game over for Microsoft. But what most don’t understand is that this is exactly what they wanted in the first place. Microsoft doesn’t care about the image of their console to fanboys. They care about the image of Microsoft the company to their investors and profits. And what better way to do this than to take advantage of your competitors by making them sell your products. Whether it is products from the third-party companies they own now or their very own first-party games. When you buy their games on Playstation, you pay Microsoft too. Fanboys view don’t come into thought for Microsoft.

Their point of view never had profits like this is generating and at the end of the day, a similar line of direction is already being seen from Playstation and will continue to grown more obvious as the profit start to show and when the smoke is clear, the gamers should win but not fanboys. Whether or not Sony survives chasing Microsoft direction or not remains to be unproven, though. But for right now, they have the most powerful and best console ever made in the Ps5 Pro with designs of a Ps6 on the horizon. Hopefully, they will find a way to make things profitable on their way into this brand-new era. A era where they had already failed with Concord and seems to be heading down a challenge road with their developer Naughty Dog upcoming game because of woke agendas. The idea of a return back to just gaming couldn’t be more needed, and Playstation would greatly benefit from such a return in the face of the unknown.
