Sure, it’s really easy for most of you to assume that my Earphone of the Year is my $500 Devialet Gemini 2’s. It’s the best sounding, best comfort, best quality, zero failures,  and best phone call quality with amazing ANC and hear thru. But, it’s not! It’s not even an earphone that was released this year.

It’s not even everyones favorite and most hyped up earphones of 2024, the flawed battery monster, but still great the $399 Bowers and Wilkins Pi8’s. Even I believe I talked about this earphone the most on my channel more than any other earphone. So I can’t really blame anyone who believes it should be the Earphone of the Year.

My Earphone of the Year is the Earfun Air Pro 4s! That’s right, the $80 earphone by this little unknown company to most, Earfun, created something special, in my opinion. For starters, I have never been this wowed about the performance of such a low-cost earphone in my life. The performance and feature-set, under any other brand name known, would have put them easily in a $250-$300 earphones out there. I would have personally paid that price for them without thought.

It’s has the  LDAC and APTX, really nice ANC and ok hear thru and nice phone call quality. The comfort is the typical comfort for L shape earphones, which means it fits very nice if you ok the L shape look. It even steps up to give you Snapdragon sound ability alone with Auracast. I mean, you could stop there, and all the boxes needed are checked. But it doesn’t stop there, nor is this the best part of the earphones.

No, the best parts to this earphone are the sound quality and battery life. This tiny little monster kills the battery life department. Gives you 11 hours without ANC and 52 hours on the case and unit totals. These numbers aren’t because the unit is some huge piece of tech. They don’t have some kind of magic that no other manufacturers have the ability to use in their earphones. No, they just gave a crap about their users and decided that this matters. This is something people like Devialet, Bowers and Wilkins, and all other brands like Sony, Sennheiser that continue to charge $200-$500 for their products still haven’t decided to care enough about their customers to even look at.

Lastly, this sound is amongst the top tiers. Forget the cost. I don’t want to hear, “it sounds great for the money” attached to this product. The sound isn’t good because of the price, it’s just good, period. The quality of bass and separation along with the soundstage is so impressive, especially when you adjust the eq to your preferred taste or allow the software to customize your hearing tones.

So yes, when you add up all this, you can begin to see my point if you aren’t too biased towards something else. I don’t believe there has been a better “punch above their weight class” in bluetooth earphones this whole year and it is why, for me, the Earfun Airpro 4’s deserve the Earphone of the Year in my opinion.
