Look, I get that music and sound is subjective. This should be understood first over all other things, to be honest. But what has got to be a literal tie with that is the fact that every single one of use are using different devices, brands, and settings for our phone. There is no wonder why we have so many people in love with this or that and yet others over on the other side of the fence can’t understand how in the world they can even fix their mouths with approval for certain items. I experienced this myself directly. Phones like the Samsung S24 and the Sony’s Xperia phones have such a huge advantage over other phones. One phone brand specifically is the OnePlus brand of phones. I really respect the things that they have done since they have come out. I use to swear by them years back. I love the fact that they didn’t have to charge $1,000’s to give their customers high quality smartphones. So I can’t blame anyone still buying them and standing by them. They look gorgeous, they really do. And to be honest, I’ve missed them for years even though I have a Samsung s24 ultra. So I ran out and got a open box One Plus 12 thinking that I was going to just plug and play right where I left off with my Samsung S24.

Boy was I wrong! This tech item turned out to be the faster return of a smartphone I have ever had in my life and the 3rd fastest tech item to be returned in my life. It wasn’t the fact that the screen had scratches on it. It wasn’t even the fact that I had to redownload every single thing I had working so well on the S24 Ultra. It wasn’t even the fact that I realized just what a pain this was going to be to lose Samsung pay options on my phone. Nope , nope , nope. It was the Sound!

The codec quality or Bluetooth tech quality they placed in this phone was absolute trash. Their sound quality despite the codec used sounded at least 2 to 3x weaker in power and clarity. It was if they just used the weakest form of SBC codecs examples you’ve ever heard in your life and just made it the default no matter what codec you used. Even their supposed options to make the sound better merely turned up the volume 1 step above what it was no matter what you turned on or off. Not even the EQ built into the phone did anything to the sound even if you turned ever value up to the max. It was literally sound hell compared to what I was getting with the Samsung S24. Not even my #1 Az100 were immune to the weak watered down sound and muddied tones even with the same EQ setting in the app that I used on my Samsung. It was like I was listening to one of worst earphones on the market when I compared the sound quality to the Samsung vs the Oneplus 12 using the same app, eq, and same song. The scariest part is that people who own this phone and others like it won’t even know something is wrong. They will just believe this is what these earphones sound like. That phone could have a option to walk on water and I would throw this phone in the first deep well I could find as hard as I could if I couldn’t return this thing.

So it’s no wonder why nobody can ever agree on sound even more than it already being subjective. It literally almost makes impossible to make the same environment to cut out any inconsistencies to reach a middle ground or same ground. For the first time I feel it’s almost useless to discuss things about sound vs another persons experience unless you know for sure you have the same environment. Then we could begin to discuss things but even then the subjective view still exist. What’s the point?? All I can say to all of you is that make sure you have a quality Bluetooth audio smartphone before you assume what you hearing is bad or good and know that people you speak to may not have this option and could very well be why they don’t hear what you hear.
