Well the Bowers and Wilkins Pi8 Saga has reached it’s conclusion. If you have been keeping up with this stuff as I’ve talked about it…you know that I have been in a fight with Bowers and Wilkins over their Pi8 issues with battery drainage problem that they weren’t willing to accept responsibility for an exchange on. They refused for almost two months to take ownership with as many questions as they could to avoid agreeing to exchange it. They finally did and they finally shipped back a new unit. If you have been paying attention on forms like reddit…this is common issue that some people act as if their particular unit doesn’t actually go through( because they always use them and never really examined things if they didn’t use regularly) the same issues I’ve describe. So like most people…you want to believe that you might have been wrong in hopes of getting another unit that renews your faith.
Unfortunately, my faith was not misplaced with my criticism. They arrived and while I had somewhat hopes about me being wrong, something told me that I wasn’t. And sure enough just before I wrote this article after a completely full case and a 2 hour session with the earphones of listen…I placed the earphones back into the case for over 2 hours and picked up the case and opened it up to take out the earphones to listen to them and once again I was hit with a 99% charging reveal. After 2 hours of charging …the earphones were still not 100% charged back up from a 2 hour session, something all other earphones completely charge back up within minutes. So you either again prove that the unit discharged as I’ve said or your want me to believe that after 2 hours in the charging case that the unit after being used for only 2 hours can’t reach 100% after in the charging case that is completely full?
So this proves that a new unit still contains the same issues as the previous unit. So again, the Bowers and Wilkins are a failure and a complete waste of my money because obviously, this isn’t a 1x issue. This discharge issue is present in every single one of their products. These types of things should be answered for, and a lawsuit should be put into place to make companies like this answer to their problems so they just can’t get away with anything and think people won’t find a way to make them own up to this stuff. A recall should be done for these products but not enough people care to make these companies stand by their products. So just like the previous model that had inherit failures with it’s design and inability to hold a stable signal, this new model has inherit problems. People didn’t make them own it last gen so of course they feel like they can get away with this gen.
