While you might not be aware of this, bowers and wilkins battery life is being registered wrong in two different spots. This could be the reason why people assume theirs is working right vs. another person saying it isn’t. I’m on my second pair of Bowers and Wilkins pi8s, and they both do the same thing. If you use them and put them in the case to recharge them and they remain their for more than 10 hours without use, they will start to discharge, or at least that is what is being recordered by the 2nd screen in the app and in your bluetooth info in your phone.

The above pictures show my pi8 only at 97% not 100%. Some people have misunderstood this to mean that it never charged to 100%, when in fact it did. What they are missing is that it discharges from 100% after a certain amount of hours in the case without use and continues to drain the longer they are in the case without use. The bad thing is that the case never recharges them after they lose this % of battery, and it just continues even though the case has plenty of power to recharge them even if they lost power. Where some people are fool is at the first screen.

From here, it looks like the earphones are 100% charged, so people assume theirs work because they never open up the buds menu or never look at this after 10 hours or more of non-use. But the bluetooth menu screen in your phone software always matches the first pictures prior to this one. This is how you know which screen is the true percentage screen.

This screen will match what the first picture shows, not what the second picture shows because that’s the real percentage, not the percentage from the 2nd picture. This is why so many people are missing it and believe they have no problem. Every single pi8 drains battery and never refills once they reach 100% and start to discharge from 100% after hours of nonuse. The more hours and / or days … the lower your battery percent will be. This is the problem with all Pi8s, and there needs to be a recall on them.
