While we have spoken very frequently about the PI8’S, I have not spoken very much on the pi6’s. Right away most will dismiss them for weaker brothers and while yes, they aren’t going fully match the PI8’S, the features they do have could make them better options for a lot of people. The easiest of those options is the price they hold VS their bigger brother and right now that price is even better than it had ever been. At a whopping $189 on Amazon is something people can really consider.
Or starters, this price is for 24 but audio options. They maintain their design and fit and give you a little more color options. They have the same small case and great fit and size. They still have ANC and Hear thru as well. But of these things one thing they have is over their bigger brother is battery life. Sportkng a 8 hour battery life over the 6.5 hours on the PI8.
Now important to be honest to tell you that most people who have purchased both say that while these sound great, there is a difference in the quality of sound the PI8’S have over the pi6’s. The resolution is more and the overall impact is cleaner and more detailed. I’ve also heard that the connection for the Bluetooth is a little shaky and spotty, so experiences may very. And lastly, they won’t have the transmission case abilities, which some could argue is the biggest stand out features the PI8’S have. But again this depends on you. You might not be the person that wants to stream music from your computer or other sources. So that might not be worth $399 VS $189 especially if you are getting better battery life.
Now keep in mind this unit still may have the drainage problems on it as well and may still have the horrible phone quality and weak ANC or worst. I don’t have the pi6’s to test but just heads up on the possibility of a role over of problems from the PI8’S that might add to the 2nd tier sound VS the PI8’S so it might not be worth it to you. If it is, $189 is a good price for such a product still in my opinion even with the known issues with the drainage problem and weak battery life as long as there isn’t any other issues waiting like connection issues like some have said. So buy at your own risk and from a store you can return the product.
