You had to know it was coming. It’s too easy to nickname this IEM. It was like it was created to be this very thing. But Daredevil it is! I absolutely love the color picked on this IEM. They could have just gone with a typical Red but they didn’t. The dark blood red goes hand and hand with all the things that have stood out in my life recently on TV. If it’s not the daredevil it’s rewatching Vampire Diaries. Either could be used but Daredevil stands out more fitting.
For me Daredevil also represents the struggle of a hero trying to deal with his handicap and being overlooked. He uses this very thing to blend in unseen until he is truly needed. The Crinncle Truthears remind me of such a thing. Truthears are trying to gain respect and trying to prove they aren’t something to be overlooked. They like Daredevil is punched well above their clarification. And while they might not have the money the bigger brands do, they make up for this with proper research and development. They also make up this by acknowledging that knowledge can be found in places like the reviewers that are well respected. By combining their resources with people like Crinncle they were able to allow their product to be redefined in the hands of a different direction that connects them better with the market.
Of course by doing this, you place your IEM into a realm to be seen differently than most others. Doing this, results in products like this that have such a respected result. It is the reason why I’m sitting here listening to these and writing about them because 7 out 10x I’m reaching for these over way more expensive products in the IEM world. The realism of the tuning has just about everything to do with that, that and the weight and fit.
Look, sure things like the Variations, Monarchs, and Dunu’s aren’t going to be outsold by this product. No, most people won’t even consider this at $55 as any threat to the reign of the kilobucks or mid-buck kings not picking it up because of the assumption it’s not as good. But there will be people like me that can’t put them down because of how perfect the vocals sound, how rich the instrument sounds are, how the mids are flat and balanced, how dynamic the bass reaction is and how perfectly light they are. People like me will just see them as great no matter the price they are but at the same time respect it enough to acknowledge it.
At the end of the day, this IEM will never leave my ownership. I will not sell it or return them because they are that special in my eyes and ears. Of the recently purchased IEMs, I would return my Nova before I return the Red. Yes, I know both of those are supposed to be technically better but none of that matters to me and my ears when I listen to them. This is how impressive it is to me and well it fits my tuning preferences.
