Well my year experiment has come to a halt right now. The year with the product only works when there are no failure issues. And unfortunately the Noble Rex5 keeps cutting out immediately when I stop a video or song, and at times just reboots. It has also started playing with a little driver imbalance, the music plays a little to the right.
Now, I don’t believe this is universal and will look into warranty exchanges unless there is a firmware update that hits and fixes this. But until then, it proves to be a very useful option to have things like the PI8’S, Az100, and even the Gemini 2. Even though I tried to sell all of them and failed, I find appreciation for them even more now that I have something to fall back on.
Who knows, maybe this is the time that I might have to focus on flawed products that just can’t be beat in 1 or 2 areas. Things like the PI8’S can’t be beat with their transmission case or their volume or treble extension. Things like the Az100 can’t be beat with their 3 device connection or 10+ hour battery life. I could even bring up Bose for just being the best in ANC. At the end of the day, just when I thought all this was over, something happens to pull me back in.
UPDATE: Well I guess the Nobel crew were listening to me or reading my article or something. We have a new update ….2.9 this time that has been released. Strangely enough, the Noble updates have been coming frequently now. At first they weren’t coming but now we have gotten a couple in the span of weeks it seems.
So far, it might be me or something but I think my balance driver is corrected now and as a result the sound is better than it was, which is a amazing accomplishment to make it better in sound. So, I’m very happy about that. However, the random disconnects still happen when I switch off a Youtube video or something. It’s like the slave and master connection for the left and right drops out and only one remains connected until a sound source is played again and then it reconnects. So I’m not sure if this is something that is just mine or not.
