The Mighty AZ100’s aka “Satoru Gojo”! I remember when this hit and everyone declared them the best earphones ever made and the obvious best earphones in 2025. They could stand against the likes of the p18’s and Denon Perl Pro’s of the world ( which is still the best buy on the market today with its price). I mean the whole world went crazy because of what their previous iteration of its line up was like, the Az80’s. A lot of the respect and praise I believe came from what the Az80 were to a lot of people, including myself. And to have a model that made the sound better, made the case smaller, and gave such an increase of battery was just outstanding. It’s still, in my opinion one of the greatest jumps of a model update I’ve seen in years.

But the funniest thing happened on its way to the finish line with 11 months to go in the year and have already been given the victory by some. Their light went out! The conversations dried up, the hype died down, and the video and conversation turned to other models that had released later in the following months. Gone were the talks about it being the greatest of all time. Gone was the talks about it being the 2025 earphone of the year. But all this was seen by me. With so much time left in the year and models like the Noble and more to come releasing their models, their light was going to burn brighter and newer over the Az100’s.

Despite all this and even a small complaint I have about the comfort being just a little more wider than I would like in my ears, it remains my favorite earphone and lineup of all time still. If you look at my older articles, you will see that I defined this as such, even though I didn’t pick it to do my year testing(solely because of the fit not being as perfect as others for me). I also promoted them over every single earphone I’ve had if you were willing to spend the $300. It wasn’t the Bose, the Pi8’s, Denon, or anything else I would suggest to anyone first over these.

These represented, what I believe, the best combination of performance, price limit, accessibility to most people’s listening habits, and the closest thing to an endgame you would ever need. The Battery life was flat out amazing ,touch control amazing and custom, sound quality next level worthy, and reliability( although not as great as the AZ80) as very good with only a couple of drops I’ve experienced since its release. So yes, in May of 2025, despite other people forgetting about them …for me …I recommend no other earphones greater than I do the Az100’s, STILL! And yes, it’s still my favorite Earphone Model (AZ lineup) of all time.

You literally can just pick this up and never need to buy any other earphones for years. Why? Because this earphone is the kind of design and performance that doesn’t remove from time. It’s either going to be accurate or not. This is what makes the az100 different. You can’t increase this type of direction to any real tangible differences. You are either accurate in timbre, mids, and vocals or you seeking to be more exaggerated in your tonality. Once you’re accurrate… You are accurate I0 years from now. Basically what sounds great today will sound great tomorrow.
