When the Az100 first hit, I told all of you that they are my earphones of the year and my favorite brand series of all time. This was heavily based on it being the most reliable earphones I’ve have for two generations in a row. That has never happened. They also made them smaller while delivering better sound and better battery life each of those years. The Az100 easily was the best they had ever done by a mile and one of the best jumps I’ve seen in a while from a earphone brand via generation tech. Things like the liquid magnetic drivers and the battery life jumps this thing is packing. They even fixed their slow charging issues they had previously.
But of these things, earphones like the Pi8 were still the Nod for the better sounding earphones by many peoples beliefs. Most said that they were “almost as good” and this is confirmed by me too. They are truly outstanding and are able to get on the dance floor with the any earphone at any price. This includes the Pi8, Gemini 2, and even the Rex 5. If I had to number sound quality alone I would put them at about 9.5/10 with the others like the Pi8 at 9.8/10, Rex 5 9.7 /10, and Gemini 2 at 10/10. But that’s not totally up the issues with all those. Lack of proper venting on the Gemini 2, lack of battery life on all those compared to the az100, or the battery drainage problems of the Pi8, or the driver imbalance problems of the Rex 5. See where I’m going with this??
So yes sound is definitely there folks. But the earphones do have other added benefits that most don’t. For starters, has no problems. No disconnects, app problems, charging issues, battery problems, etc, etc. They connect to 3 devices at once. They have amazing standby time and single charge hours. They have custom controls and a amazing EQ. And finally, they have the best noise canceling on a phone calls to block noise from around you so the other people can hear you, than any brand in existence.
So, what is that worth to you? This is the question to all things. Does .2-.5% sound mean more than better stability, zero problems, better ANC on phone calls ,connection to 3 items, 10 hour battery life, and perfect touch controls? For me through all my trails and growth in my life. I understand that this little of a percentage means nothing compared to all the other advantages. But that’s me especially the comfort of knowing I have no battery drainage problems, lack of battery, disconnects, and or other things stopping the operation of the unit. I’m not waiting on a firmware to fix something promised when it shipped. With the Az100 I have perfectly dependable earphones that sound amazing, look amazing, feel amazing , last for a long time, and cost reasonable. Hence why it has been and still remains my favorite Brand and Series of earphones of all time and remains my earphone of the year!
