One thing I don’t really do before I review my product is read into others. I don’t ever want to take on a opinion of someone that will influence my own views. The Planar driver Solo, by 64 Audio is one of those controversial products that some love and some belittle. I’ve seen reviewers like Josh Valour trash 64 Audio with some of his takes on his reviews and yet still claim how impressive they are for quality music, which made no sense to me. Then I’ve seen other reviewer praise the same products for 64 audio and have the exact opposite reaction and praise the areas that Josh gave criticism on. This is nature of the beast.
And yet for me 64 audio products has changed the game for myself and obviously has the awards to back it up. It’s connects me like it’s a missing piece of my mind or spirit. I thought perhaps this is based on the Planar Driver, as this is my first of such drivers in a UIEM. I’ve only had it in headphones and I’ve missed them, to be honest.
And then I just tossed this up the hard work that 64 audio has been implementing inside their IEMS that add to the sound and creates things truly special thanks to the blessings upon their company’s visions. I couldn’t fully explain what the sound was doing that truly different at first. It’s like it has something present while having something absent and yet those things just so happen to allow the sonic field to be heard on a slightly different path that creates a more realistic and interesting connection to the music and my ear I thought. I thought it could be like surround sound, where only those who sit in the very middle hear the beauty that all others just walk away from because they can’t hear the dimensional field of play like you can.
I mean I really couldn’t nail what the difference was but I knew it was there and it a huge game changer for me. Then I played some ASMR and it all made sense. When I played ASMR on my N6III DAP, like I had played with every single UIEM I’ve had before it, my whole mind was blown. It’s the timbre! The realism and tones that the Solo (aka Killmonger) displayed in my virtual sound mind was absolutely next world. I had never heard textures, taps, water, metallics,wood, and other material so realistic in my life. This is why the music sounded better because the mid range and timbre was done so masterfully with its custom acoustic chambers.
This is why the 64 Audio brand still remains the highest sound quality brand I’ve ever had with the U12T and now with the Solo’s. Both of these UIEM have top class sound. There is a difference between something that sounds loud, or powerful, or just has bass. Creating something that sounds real is on a whole different level. Can you find something that has more dynamics or more treble or bass? Yes, but they won’t do what 64 Audio does as a whole.
So after all these years, the brand still does what it does to me and my ears still today. It’s too the point that I’ve decided to return my Monarchs Mk2(which is still in my opinion top 5 of all time). They were shipped back this afternoon because of the dominance of this single UIEM. I have also deciding to sell my other UIEM’S like my Dunu’s finally and my other lower cost IEMs like my Blessings and more. There really isn’t a reason to move forward with anything less than what this UIEM can do. I can’t go backward now. Its looks too beautiful and sounds too beautiful. Best of all, I’ve gotten a level of sound quality, looks, and feel, and meaningful direction with a brand.
I knew that 64audio would eventually create that for me. This is it. I finally have that level most dream of reaching. That level that is reached that is so good and fitting for your needs that you don’t even care if there is other brands and items that can match or beat it anymore. Finally, it about sound, fit and quality solely with this one product. I can tell you for sure that the Valhalla by Thieaudio is better in sound than this for the majority of the people but it’s not 64 Audio nor their roots in Christ, it’s not going to be fit like these, nor is it going to have a better timbre than this. I’m sure things like the Empire Ears Odin might be considered by some as the best sounding dynamics and bass over this too but again, not 64 Audio’s Christ direction at all, not the same fit, and can’t beat this timbre nor look. So yes, go looking all you want. Even find it, I actually don’t dispute your feelings nor care. This is how great this is. I don’t need or care to have better at this stage of my life. Endgame reached for UIEM’s!
