Well, as always when new product release like the Momentum 630 by Sennheiser, the company start great deals on the previous product. Previously, just days ago the Sennheiser momentum 4 headphone was still $450 after being on the market for 3 years going into their 4 years almost. Throughout the years there has been sale prices before but I don’t remember the prices cut almost $300.

And unlike other sales prices in the past, this particular sale covers all colors variants. In the past this was not the case. You could find sale prices only on the basic black or grey colors. So this time out Sennheiser seems to be giving back a little more to the fans, which is a good thing because arguably, the Sennheiser momentum 4 are still the best overall Bluetooth headphones you can find still by a great many peoples opinions.

The 60 hours of battery life, the powerful sound, touch controls, and robust app with EQ options makes momentum 4 a very formidable headphone to try and defeat by any Bluetooth headphone out there. Hence, why I’ve waiting this long to get another pair myself. The current one I have I have given to my wife and I was willing to buy and keep the cheaper brother Accentum Plus because of the $180 price tag. But I recent found Amazon has refurbished Momentum 4’s directly from Sennheiser on sale for $160 so I decided to get it and return the Accentum Plus I got for $180. I was even blessed enough to get it 3 days earlier than the projected arrival. Thankful and grateful to Christ I am for anything that is a blessing to my life. Small, yes to someone else, but big to my life. Now my wife and I both have the Momentums 4’s.

Yes, I know the Momentum 630 is out and I could have just paid for the latest and greatest. But lately life has shown me that the latest and greatest don’t always equal what is the best thing for my life personally. I would rather have a $160 momentum 4 than a $500 momentum 630. For starters I am not ready for bulking looks of headphones. Its a pet peeve of mine. And the 630 looks like coffee mugs on your ears. They stick out quite a bit compared to the Momentum 4 and other headphones. But what about the Parametric EQ and 700 UsB C dongle? Well, again this is yet another thing I just don’t want or believe it matters the way other have tried to make it out to be. For starters, I already have the 700 USB c and it’s horrible. The volume is so low when in use that you are far better off not using the thing. They don’t tell you this part while they are hyping up the 630 on YouTube. They don’t tell or remind you that you can’t get the high res 24bit without the dongle. Pay attention to how many skip over this function or results from it. It’s not very effective and if they do fix the volume issues ..what’s the point of the 630, as you can use the 700 USB dongle with the Sennheiser momentum 4 for $199.

Lastly the Parametric EQ is a software base function hype. It’s not needed and most will skip it in favor of the standard EQ. I have it on my DAP by Cayin and I don’t even bother. So I don’t credit the headphone for this option as they could easily do a update to the momentum 4 software to include this very same thing and you wouldn’t need another headphone for it to be used. But they won’t add this because they want you to believe this is all because of the headphone, when it isn’t. Lastly, this is not a Momentum 5 contrary to most belief. Sennheiser said that there still will be a momentum 5. So I bet it might be smaller and have the same software update for the Parametric EQ possibly.

Get the 600 dongle over the 700 for the same 24 bit hi rez

At the end of day, I believe this should have been just marketed as a desktop headphone that you can use as a Bluetooth headphone. Which is cool but it’s not going to replace my 109 Pro’s and it won’t replace the Momentum 4 for mobile use because they are too bulky for me and don’t truly identify themselves as a necessary upgrade because I was never missing anything from the momentum 4’s to begin with for my Bluetooth needs. So I would highly suggest the $199 momentum 4 with a 600 USB dongle, over the 630’s with the 700 USB dongle and you will get the same hi rez sound for far less.
