The Samsung Buds 4 Pro are truly punching above their weight class. Even Sony has had to lower its cost because of the momentum the Samsung brand is pushing. They have the most Android phones out there and the most accessories. They are also the only company that mimics Apple’s dominance. So none of us should be shocked by results like this when Samsung gets things right. They have truly outdone themselves.
They are at a level of quality rarely seen. They have no weakness and do everything either extremely well or perfectly. We have amazing sound, dual drivers including a planar driver, perfect fit and comfort, amazing ANC abilities, great Hear-Thru abilities, industry-standard battery life of 7 hours at least, small footprint, quality build, the look, and gimmicks and tricks that make them stand out.
But one feature that has been a part of their ecosystem that a lot of people don’t know about or take advantage of is their amazing voice controls. Now, don’t get me wrong, a lot of earphones have a form of voice control. Even the XM6 has it. But Samsung does something completely different that isn’t seen on any other earphone I’ve seen. The Samsung has no phrase required to activate it. No “Hey headphones,” “Hey Google,” or “Hey Samsung.” Nope! All you have to do is speak phrases, it’s activates the command, almost like magic.
Add this to their amazing sound quality and music-centric set of features and quality, and what you end up with is an experience like nothing else. No more reaching up to touch your earphone, grabbing your phone out of your bag, or even being that dude screaming “HEY Google” or “Hey Headphones” in a room full of people trying to stop their phone from responding. Just say “Next Song” or “Answer call” when it announces who is calling you. No need to even shake your head or reach for your ear or phone..
I can’t tell you how amazing this option is, nor how much simpler and more convenient it makes life using these earphones that already fit so well and are comfortable plus sound so amazing. It truly is a very nice option to have, and I’m very glad they kept this option available with the launch of these earphones. It was available in the previous version of earphones too, but again, with the previous one not being as well designed and well-sounding as these new ones, it probably fell under the radar..
Everything from sound, features, and most importantly, comfort, is present in this model. And it’s the game changer and difference maker, at least for my life and ears. For the first time, I am not picking a product that checked the most boxes but a product that checks the “Right” boxes for my life. I think this is a huge step into a future that will be more balanced and enjoyable, seeking after things that align with this direction versus the most popular or most powerful direction.
