Just like clock work, the new shiny new toy is in play and now all of sudden the YouTubers that claimed that Sony was the greatest earphone ever made and didn’t bother bringing up any of its short comings are all picking them out now as if they never praised it just weeks ago.

I mean if you listen to them you would swear that Sony xm5 was absolute trash. The amount of complaints from the bandwagon YouTubers are in full effect because it’s time to hype up something new. And look, don’t get me wrong…I made mistakes about my review of the Sonys because of fit issues I had to work out. But I didn’t wait for a new product before I corrected my views. And while I have no doubt that Jabra has done themselves proud with their new release, they are not Sonys, never have been. And this may be a good thing for some, that they aren’t Sonys. But make no mistake about it. Sonys is superior in ANC just under Bose. And the Sony xm5’s are better at Transparency mode just under the AirPods. After that the sound and fit (if you roll the tips) is outstanding. And the Jabra’s won’t beat them there unless you truly can’t use the foam tips. And if so, I can understand the need for the Jabra. They do have pressure venting tech (the Sonys I’m not sure if they have it). They also have way better battery life according to reports(12 hours on a single charge vs their advertising 6). They also have physical buttons over touch controls if you prefer that(I hate pushing things that are in my ears already). Other than that they have automatic volume adjustment tech and a simpler volume adjustment option for the controls vs the Sonys 4 tap option.

And finally the 2 years warranty over the Sonys 1 year. But you won’t get LDAC nor DSEE frequency advantage. You won’t get a case that can actually stand up right. You also won’t get the smaller case design Sonys give. You won’t get the shake your head feature, touch to awareness features, nor speak to chat feature. So again, you see that nothing is perfect and the Jabra is no different. But it does present an option to buyers and that’s always a good thing. All I’m stressing is the habits of reviewers to always sugarcoat things on hyped up products and then turn around and down them simply because a new product is out. The release of a new product doesn’t magically make another product have issues. Tell the viewers about the possible issues before the next hyped up product comes and people will respect you more.
