Big day today! I have done all the research, gathered , and all the facts about this debate on iPhone Duo and Fold 8! I have labeled over and over again all the pros and cons. The iPhone Duo is just a better fold. It’s not a hard thing to see. Better screen, better battery, better durability, more secure, and better software implementation. This is just facts…not biases. Not fanboy talk here.
AND YET…
I pick the Samsung Fold 8! Why?
What I realize was that I didn’t pick the Fold 8 because it was best smartphone. I picked it because it was uniquely designed. Both in the freedom of the OS and the cut of its build. The way it fits into my hands and becomes perfectly symmetrical when opened to look like a piece of paper while still giving me all my Samsung features and AI sweets.
Apple’s entry into the market doesn’t remove the existance of the Fold 8. Obviously even Korea surprisingly purchased even more Fold 8’s after the iPhone Duo was announced. So this proves people, after seeing the iPhone Duo, still preferred the Fold 8. And even if they didn’t, this has nothing to do with me or you ultimately anyway. But it serves as a stamp that others do see what I see and just doing more doesn’t mean best for you.
I know I have been the one riding the fence. But I’m finally over the newness of the product and can see it for what it is despite the shortcomings. This is just an amazing, unique phone. One that I would be more proud to carry even in the face of the more popular and more features rich iPhone Duo.
One thing to note though is just how unusable my Fold 7 is now. I can’t type any further. It’s gotten worse. I just can’t go back to long and or skinny phones. This Fold 8 is a love letter to all the Android users, as far as I’m concerned. It reminds us that the conformity of tech sides is an ever-evolving door. It can be for or against you. You can follow it or reject it, but when companies like Samsung are there to form competition against the bigger brands like Apple, we all can find cause to rejoice. Because we win with competition regardless of the side of the table you stand.
