So let’s get this obvious out of the way first, shall we? There are no perfect technologies. Everything made by man is flawed in some way or another. Earphones are no different. The Bose QC II are flawed earphones that are my ideal sound and comfort level. So ideal that I have nothing I’ve experienced that is more pleasing to my ears in sound, features, and comfort ever in my history of earphones and even IEMs. This alone should be praise enough for most to run and buy but you can’t yet. Why? Because, as I’ve experienced there is either a group of bad ones out there or their whole line up is flawed through a firmware issue to the software or even the earphones themselves.

Even now if you search the forums online you will find groups of people( may like 20 or so) that have all reported having the same problems after the recent update Bose pushed. They all say they have some sort of connection issue preventing them from connecting to their phones or the Bose app. They can eventually make it work in most cases with 3 or more attempts, reboots of phones, or removal of the App and bluetooth memory, only to have it happen later in the week again. Some have reported that they were never able to connect as well but they weren’t as many as those people. As for me, I didn’t believe this was going to happen to me because I was on day 4 with no problems whatsoever, even with the updated firmware that people believed was the source. But in the middle of the day it happened. It took me like 5 attempts of reboots and deletions of bluetooth devices for it to work again but that was enough for me to return mine and remove it from my must buy suggestions.

I exchanged mine though. Why? Because these earphones are the greatest sounding and best ANC and fit I’ve ever experienced. For the first time I can’t say that the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. Even if this problem happened to me again, I don’t believe I could put these things down and as of day 3 with the exchanged unit I haven’t experienced anything yet since I updated the firmware that everyone is afraid might have caused the problem. And I say since the firmware because my connection issues with the new one was there out of the box exactly like the previous one was after the firmware, only my new one had not installed the new firmware and still duplicated that connection difficulty so I know it’s not the firmware on the earphones. And after the firmware …no problem…a complete 180. But even if I do get the connection issue again, as long as I can get it back to connect with my phone, I don’t see myself subing these things out for any other earphone or IEM, and that’s saying a lot.

When I listen to these, I feel like I have a magical power or something when I turn that ANC on. Unlike anything I’ve tried before, this ANC kills everything without head pressure in my brain. This shows quality! The comfort that they provide is such that I could sleep in these because I’m a back sleeper. This would apply to other earphones if they sat inside my ears like these did. When I put these on they become my personal customized ANC, Sound and frequency response based on my ears. If I want the world let in I can do this. If I want the world to disappear, then it goes away. There is no compromising …it flawless in its delivery of features and Sound. The bass is so rich and maybe the best i’ve ever heard besides my $600 IEMs. But they can’t do ANC, take calls, activate Transparency mode, or give me touch controls. So again, it’s just the best period. It gives you the perfect spacing, width, and maintains its mids support and great details in the treble extension and tonality in everything played through it. They are inviting, emotional, powerful, and game changing. So my 5 Star ranking for these are 4.3 Stars( no dual connection to multiple devices at the same time) if they end up fixing the connection issue with the next update for everyone that might be having this problem still. But if not then 4 stars out of 5.
