The day has arrived. I have to pick who I stay with and who gets packed up and sent back to the store. I think this has been the most back and forth I’ve felt in a long time. This shouldn’t have been so hard if you just look at things on paper. Only one of these earphones checks the most boxes easily: the Sonys..
• It has the most realistic sound and wider soundstage.
• It has the most power ANC.
• It has the most battery life.
• It has the most features
• It has the best app.
• It has the easiest controls.
• Its the most unique and none generic looking.
• Its the only one that has battery protection for long use for years
• It’s the only one that has true multi pairing regardless of brand of device.
• It also has LDAC and sound isn’t tied to the brand.
With all that, yet my choice is the Samsung buds 4 pro!!!!

I know this makes zero sense. It’s so questionable even to me that I can’t recommend anybody else make this same choice. So then why? It’s not about how many boxes; it’s about the weight of them! For me, this is what matters the most.
• Venting and pressure are much better on the Samsung, even though Sony has venting systems in place, it’s not as effective as the 4 Pros. HUGE!
• Voice controls with Gemini hands-free voice activation. I can have both, where I have to choose with Sony. And Samsung voice controls are the very best in the world because they don’t require command words. HUGE!
• Fit and comfort, hands down, is the biggest, most weighted box, period. The Sony just doesn’t work for me in my ears for comfort for long. And I know I can get more tips at the cost of ANC or sound or both, but I shouldn’t have to. The 4 pros just fit in my ears immediately and stay put with a perfect seal. HUGE!!!!!!!!!
• Phone call quality is better and clearer on the Samsung Buds 4 Pro. Sony’s is still more muffled and robotic. Huge!
• Look… I’m sorry, I hate having huge bolts stick out of my head like a science experiment. With the Samsung Buds 4 Pro, they sit flat and low-profile.
• “Hear-through” on Samsung Buds 4 Pro is the very best, second only to Apple.
• Lastly, the sleep factor. I can actually sleep in these without too much discomfort. I can never do that with the Sonys. If it’s not the pressure and discomfort in my ears, it’s the inability to stay stationary without losing seal if I turn my head too much to the side. HUGE!
So, as you can see, if all I do is pick the one with the most features, it’s Sony. But because the weight of each win is different for me, the victories for the four pros weigh more than the wins for the Sonys. And that’s why I’m returning the Sonys, not the Samsungs. Again, this is not the choice I would suggest for others. The Sonys are, in my opinion, the Kings of Bluetooth for 2026 for the vast majority of people out there that fit them. So I have no problem with anyone telling me that the Sonys are better, because they are—just not in my case for what I’m seeking the most.
